This is a little outside of my range so I'll do some more research and see what I can find. I did find this at Google Answers:

As long as a conviction isn't for possessing or selling illegal
drugs or the conviction was removed from your record you should still
be able to apply for grants and scholarships with the FAFSA. You can
get Pell Grants through the FAFSA as well as Stafford Loans. Also many
times, such as at my college, they use the FAFSA to determine
state/local/school related scholarships and grants as well.
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/faq003.htm

You can also call this # if you have any more questions.
Federal Student Aid Information Center
1-800-433-3243.

Also, at the school of your choice make an appointment to speak with a
Financial Aid Officer. It's their job to know about scholarships and
whatnot, so they may be able to point you to local or state
scholarships/grants in your area as well that you're eligible for.
Each state has different laws re: felonies and eligibility, so please
speak with someone at the college you wish to attend about the issue.

As a side note, I found this message board which poses the same
question you have. Maybe you could post there and see if anyone can
help you?

Welcome to StraightForward Media's Law School Scholarship program! We offer four scholarships a year exclusively to law students.

Law school is as -- and probably always will be -- a popular destination for many of today's top students. The legal profession offers potential for students with a variety of different goals: from big salaries, power and influence, to the ability to help out those in society without a voice. Ever the litigious society, the U.S. always seems to have plentiful work for any hardworking laywer who wants to grab the bull by the horns.

Whatever your reason for going to law school, you'll need a ton of money to get through these three most expensive years of your life. That's why we created the $500 Law School Scholarships, offered four times per year.

Loan Forgiveness Programs
Elisa Kronish

Are your student loans piling up? Depending on your future plans, you may be able to find relief. Loan forgiveness programs can help by canceling some, or all, of you debt in exchange for some type of public service.

Low-income School Programs

There are several federal loan forgiveness programs designed for students who become full-time teachers in elementary or secondary schools that serve low-income communities. For example, Perkins Loan borrowers can have up to 100 percent of their loan canceled over a five-year period -- 15 percent for the first and second years of teaching, 20 percent for the third and fourth, and 30 percent for the fifth.

Federal Stafford Loan borrowers after October 1, 1998, can cancel up to $5,000 if they work for five consecutive years in an approved school. Certain math, science and special education teachers may be eligible for up to $17,500 in loan forgiveness. Contact your state education agency or school district to find out which schools are eligible.

Targeted Teaching Programs

Federal Perkins Loan borrowers can also have their loans canceled for full-time teaching in a subject area that has a shortage of teachers. This typically focuses on subjects such as science, foreign languages, special education and math. The portions forgiven are equal to the portions for the Perkins low-income school program. Check your local school system or state education agency to find out if your subject area has a teacher shortage.

Applying for Forgiveness

You can usually find applications for loan forgiveness programs at your school's financial aid office. You should also review your loan promissory notes, which describe some of the more common federal loan forgiveness programs. If the program is state-specific, you may have to call the state agency that administers the program. Some programs are competitive and operate on a first-come, first-served basis, according to fund limitations. Typically you must reapply each year following the year of completed service.

Finding More Programs

The Loan Forgiveness Directory lists more than 200 federal and state agencies, employers, colleges, hospitals, law firms and other employers that offer loan forgiveness programs. It includes award amounts, eligibility criteria and application procedures. For information on purchasing the directory, visit: www.srnexpress.com/forgive.cfm.

If you qualify, loan forgiveness programs can lighten your financial burden. Check out your options for a debt-free future.

That's good food right there. I know there are a good amount of educators on this board. Thanks.

Any Graduate level scholarships for educators.

http://www.fastweb.com is great. Earned 10k off a lead listed on that website.

There is no excuse for not going to college. I have said many times that there is so much free money out there for college. This thread proves it. 5 star thread indeed.

College is not expensive either. Do 3 years at a community college then transfer to a 4yr. Community college is generally pretty cheap. Check out half.com for your textbooks. Don't buy them at a college bookstore (shit is overpriced).

Just do not waste your time with a useless degree. For those thinking about Business Administration degrees, get a Math or Economics degree instead. Or both! Business Administration is one of those degrees that scream "boring!".

Why look for a program specifically for ex convicts when you qualify for most of the ones already listed here? If you are a low income U.S. citizen, you already qualify for most grants. Key qualifications are U.S. citizen and low income (and decent grades C or better).

Start with Fasa and UNCF to start out. You will qualify even if you work full time at min. wage.

No grudges at all man, do your thing.

Do you know of any co-workers or yourself who have had luck with getting loan forgiveness as posted above? I tried a few years back but ran into some roadblocks. I didn't follow up yet because I'm taking Grad level courses so my loans are currently in deferment.

Any info is good info.

Nah not offhand...I know one girl who had her tuition paid with the stipulation being she had to work in a certain area for a few years but I don't think it was loan "forgiveness"...

College Scholarships in Math, Science and Engineering for Rising Juniors and Seniors

The Foundation will award undergraduate scholarships to outstanding
students, to be known as Barry M. Goldwater Scholars, in the spring of
2008 for use during the 2008-2009 academic year. The awards will be
made on the basis of merit to two groups of students -- those who will
be college juniors and those who will be college seniors in the
2008-2009 academic year -- who have outstanding potential and intend
to pursue careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, or
engineering. Four-year institutions are eligible to nominate up to
four students who are in the sophomore or junior class during the
2007-2008 academic year. Two-year institutions may nominate up to two
students who are sophomores during the 2007-2008 academic year. To be
considered, a student must be nominated by his or her college or
university using the official nomination materials available to each
institution on the Foundation's website.

Each scholarship covers eligible expenses for undergraduate tuition,
fees, books, and room and board, up to a maximum of $7,500 annually.
Scholarship monies not used during one academic year are not
transferable to the succeeding academic year. Junior-level scholarship
recipients are eligible for a maximum of two years of scholarship
support, and senior-level scholarship recipients are eligible for a
maximum of one year of scholarship support.

The Trustees intend to award up to 300 Goldwater Scholarships. The
number of scholarships to be awarded per state will depend on the
number and qualifications of the nominees from the 50 states, the
District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and, considered as a single entity,
Guam, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the
Northern Mariana Islands.
