I can't believe in the year 2025 the "lower the rims" talk is still happening.
Dunking aint what it used to be, even in the NBA. The days of Jordan, Dominique and Vince are long gone. When you look at a game, you might see 1 or 2 good dunks a game. The rest are blah and over hyped.
For the past 15 years the 3-point shot is the new highlight that gets the crowd excited (shout out to Steph). Think about how many times you hear "From the Logo" during a game versus any dunk reference. People like to see shooting and that's the women's game.
Now, there are women who can dunk (in college and the pros), but they don't. They choose to play the game below the rim, like it always has been. But as I've seen
@REDLINE mention, dunking won't move the needle with fans of the W. They tune into see the shooting and the skills these women have. Not just to see if someone dunks.
