*****The Offical CAVS vs CELTICS thread*******

Not saying he is just pointing out that Boston is still tough, do you honestly believe if Kobe's on that Cavs team tonight it's any different...we've seen him against the Celtics at their best and we saw the result.
That's what I can't figure out-- Are the Celtics really at their best or is Cleveland really this bad?

Orlando has a chance to sweep to the Finals... Probably a five game series but neither team in this series seems close to their level.

Yeah you need to sleep it off cause you saying 'No KG' in the playoffs argument "isn't fair" :smh:

He's the best player on the team in most people eyes

No KG no Championship fam end of story :itsawrap:

Yeah Orlando got a little better but you don't seem to understand Boston is a different team with KG

I'll take Boston Beating Orlando in 6 if they get past CLE

church!!!!

The Difference the cavs havent Beat boston in a playoff series in the last 4 years.......ORLANDO HAS!!!:yes:

Orlando only won because KG was out

Perkins alone isn't going to stop Dwight Howard

They yall on the ropes 3-1 or 3-2 and you came back and won which I tip my hat to you for but don't get it twisted Orlando will fall to the celtics

Yall are coached by a crazy fool and Howard has no heart one strong punch and yall gonna crack like glass joe in Punch Out

Orlando has Howard, Gertot and Bass behind him. They did that for a reason. They can beat up KG downlow.

The Big 3 are always a threat, no doubt. And Rondo has been nuts.

Vince carter, Rashard lewis vs. Pierce/Allen; Barnes will be very important this series.

The Orlando Bench

Orlando is 6.

Or course, this is assuming that the Cavs have no heart. Which they showed today

BTW, can we now question Lebron James as a man who can take you to the promise land.

I agree, Mike Brown can't coach an offense. But Lebron bitched up badly

The only reason for that, is because Boston did not have to go through Orlando to win the championship 2 years ago. They did have to go through Cleveland!!! and last year boston was up 3-2 on orlando with no KG the entire playoffs and a big baby davis starting:smh:

Dude Orlando was starting a Rookie SG on a all starr Ray allen..........And we had a Backup point guard named Rafer alston on Rondo also an all-star.............They were down 3-2 came back to win 6 in boston........If Ya'll get past Cleveland.....dont count your hoes before they arrive......ORLANDO IS WAITING......Dwight and Jameer sippin on Drinks, playing Golf with tiger, laughing with mickey mouse........BRING IT:lol::lol::lol:

Dont Stick a Fork in Cleveland yet they a Streaky Team man!!

No more excuses left for The King. He got Shaq even at his age a legit center needed to get thru the East. He got his all-star pf Jamison. Already had all-star guard Mo Williams who is now the 3rd or 4th option with Jamison and Shaq so he has no pressure to be the #2 on the team. Fellow defensive first teamer Varejao.

All I know is if the Lakers lose this year all of the blame will be put on Kobe so the same should go for Lebron the two-time regular season MVP.

The series is not over yet,
and orlando has been the best team in the playoffs. lets see who they will meet!!

Being in Chicago, i've seen a championship team and how it operates. I simply don't see what it takes to win a championship in this Cavs team. Lebron is a great player, but he is not a clutch player. At least not yet. This is why he isn't better than Kobe. He was shook in this game, period. He isn't an assassin. I don't know if it's something that he can learn to become.

They can come back and win the series, although I doubt that'll happen because of what I stated above. I'm simply not impressed with their roster. On the other hand, Boston has some tested future HOF's and one of the best PG's in the game. Their bench has been playing well, also.

You can tell the casual NBA viewer from a lot of opinion on television and also on this board. Anyone who thought the Cavs would have a cakewalk in this series simply based that on emotion (Barkley) or don't know the game.

For Lebron to get a ring he's gonna need to play alongside someone with heart, such as an D. Rose or D. Wade. He's a great player, but he doesn't have the heart of an ultimate closer.
Last season, this wouldn't have surprised me. But after the last postseason and the regular season... This is a huge letdown for Cleveland. They've been exposed-- the team can no longer exist as constituted.

Are you sure that was in the 'offs? I thought I saw that gif weeks/months ago....

My fault. But still though ...

I gotta C/S every fucking word in this post.

The reason Bron is just a "great player" (based on individual stats thus far)and not an MJ or Kobe is because he is an immature foolishly arrogant attention whoring diva that was crowned "KING" before he even touched an NBA basketball. Come on, dude has a fucking big ass tatoo on his back that says CHOSEN ONE. :hmm::rolleyes:

The coontastic pre-game dance routines (sure you can claim it's just "good clean fun"), his routine bitching and moaning at the refs for calls, show-boating for the gallery (not really mad at that if it's done with some common fucking sense!), post-game narcissistic press conferences, and that attention whoring move he pulled in the Bulls game stepping off the free-throw line to confront a player on the FUCKING BENCH! like he was really gonna do shit  You'd NEVER see MJ or Kobe do shit like that. These are dudes with ice-cold almost Zen like focus. They let their game talk first ... THEN talk shit.

LE-"BRAUN" has a lot to learn. A lot.

If LeBron never wins a ring, one day he'll be strolling along on a beach during one of his early summer vacations and suddenly Nick Cannon will walk up to him and say "That is one dumb fuckin' tattoo."

Damm Skippy Orlando destroyed Atlanta by 25 points a Game worse 4 game sweep in NBA HISTORY......and i know the cavs swept atlanta last year but that was different because 3 atlanta players were injured.....Orlando dude!!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

LOL @ at all the Kobe stans in this thread now. Let them lose the series first...though I called it during game 1 when they couldnt stop Orlando.

HOWEVER, as a Pistons fan, I know that Lebron can take over a series at any moment..all cleveland has to do is win two games...

You also cant call Lebron a choker. ALL of his numbers are up during this playoff run and his playoff numbers are always better than his regular seasons number...even in this series and in the series they lost last year to orlando where he was averaging damn near 40 10 10....

and this is from someone who said this would be a major FAIL for Lebron and the Cavs if they didnt win a title...much less not even get to the ECF

'Stans' has to be the most misused/overused term, since 'haters'. Lebum choked. It happens... even to the greats. Yes, Kobe's slumped in the same 'lows' as LeBronze but, LeBroom has yet to reach the same 'highs' as Kobe. I'd say Kobe 'Stans' have good reason to gloat.

You are the most non reading nicca :smh:

The point is simple: Since the Magic have gotten significantly better, it's unfair to look at last year's series and say now that the addition of KG would make the difference since they were up 3-2 last year. That would make sense if this were nearly the same Magic team...but it's not. The team is different and they're playing significantly better basketball now.

In this case it is not homie. Because I saw pages of people who have not contributed anything to any basketball threads and all of a sudden they are posting in every basketball thread and creating multiple threads because Lebron had one bad game.

That is the very definition of a stan. I wasnt talking about you. You always post in basketball threads. Im talking about lurkers, etc coming out of lurk-mode because Lebron only scored 15 points.

Why are Kobe fans "Stans", but Lebron fans aren't?

Dudes on BGOL deflect all criticism and sing praises for Lebron in the same way that Kobe fans do. How is it different? Because Kobe is disliked by most BGOL'ers?

It's not like Kobe haters and Lebron fans don't flood Lakers threads when the Lakers lose. That's all BGOL do. Motherfuckers have blood in their eyes when the Lakers win.

All players get over-hyped by fans, and I don't see Lebron as the exception.

Lebron has stans as well. What Im laughing about is that we have had playoff thread for weeks now and now im seeing a bunch of lurkers posting in basketball threads because Lebron has ONE 15 point game.

Just like you...who the fuck are you.... you have 15 posts..ive not seen you in any basketball threads until today.

No doubt, if the Lakers lose to the Suns (which they wont), there would be a gang of posts as well.... but let the mofos lose the series to Boston first (which I predicted they would during game 1), before pissing on themselves out of happiness.

Does my post count have anything to do with my ability to discuss basketball?

In any case...

..what's happening to Lebron is what happened to Kobe Bryant. You put a player too high up on a pedestal, and you're going to create another group who wants to pull him down.

Everybody can agree that Lebron is a great player, but everyone doesn't agree on HOW great he is. It's the same with Kobe. The further you stand out from the crowd, the easier it is for people to notice you and over-criticize or over-hype.

What you see forming is the anti-fandom that Kobe has had longer than Lebron has been in the league. Players who get hyped as much as Kobe and Lebron have to be damn near perfect to quell most of the criticism.

Lebron is a two-time MVP with no championship rings. That makes him an easy target to people who are sick of his fans and the hype.

My problem with people who talk about how great Lebron is is they put him head and shoulders above everyone in the league. No other player in the league is in the same stratosphere as him. If he's that great then he shouldn't need the help Kobe, D-Wade or Melo needs to win a championship.

He's a great player but he's a lot closer to the other great players in the league then the media wants you to believe.

I havent made any statements about your ability to discuss basketball. I just find it ironic that you or others only want to discuss basketball if it in someway relates to Kobe Bryant.

There are basketballl threads here every day...nice intelligent basketball threads and posts. Today, there are lurkers shitting in good threads and creating several new threads on the main board because Lebron had a 15 point game last night.

These are stans. I have no problem being critical of players... but the bias is obvious when a poster has 20 points and 15 of them mention Kobe Bryant.

In terms of the rest, I dont disagree at all. The regular season MVP is beginning to be a curse of death like the Madden Curse..when was the last time a regular season MVP actually won the title that year or even made it to the Finals.

I dont have any problems criticizing any player. It is just ridiculous when all the lurkers come out of lurkerdom and criticize any player for ONE bad game. Now, if the Cavs win the series and Lebron carries them, are they going to be equally supportive...you bet not..... because this has nothing to do with that and more to do with Kobe stans being upset Kobe being usurped by some of the younger players in the league.

He is the best player in the league. However, he is going to need a clear number 2. No different than Kobe needing a great coach and then Gasol to get over the hump...no different than MJ needing a great 2 in Scottie Pippen and a great coach in Phil Jackson.

Also, if they get knocked out against Boston, Lebron is an easy target and he will know clearly have the monkey on his back about winning a title...he has it now, but now it will be really huge if they dont even make it to the ECF....completely busted season when all these moves were made to get them past Orlando.

Besides the 2004 Pistons team, when was the last time a title was one without a tandom of at least two great to good players in their prime and usually there is a great coach in the picture.

The problem with the Cavs is that they are too dependent on Lebron. Ive seen Kobe only score 15 points in THIS playoff run and the Lakers actually can still win....Lebron cant afford to have an off-night with this team..

When the Jamison trade was made that was suppose to lock up the championship for the Cavs. He's supposed to be Lebron's #2. He's not showing up in this series but a couple months ago the Cavs had the best team in the league and now the usual excuse comes up that he doesn't have any teammates.

Jamison is a 19ppg guy for his career. I haven't watched many of the games this series but could it be that Jamison isn't being utilized the way he should to be the most effective? He was brought in to take pressure off Lebron. Is he being allowed to do that?

In defense of LeBron,it still comes down to his teammates.
If Kobe has a bad game,Gasol,Odom can come thru big-time...on the Celts,it does not matter.Pierce has been awful all series...if KG has a so-so game,Ray Allen,no problem.

LBJ has to be great for the Cadavers to win....

If you had a draft of only Cavs/Celtic players...how would it go.

LBJ would be the first pick...

Then,Rondo second,KG third,Pierce next,then Ray Allen....

So,of the top five players on the court...four are Celtics.

LBJ has an old,fat Shaq...a NoMo Williams,a use to losing Jamison,an off his meds Delonte West,an over-looked Hixson and Jurassic Z.

Bottom line....Cadavers are dead, either tomorrow or against the Magic,or LA.

All I can do is laugh at the irony because people who critcize kobe 'stans' are the ones doing damage control for bron. Funny how the shoe always ends up on the other foot.

Anyways, my position is clear. Sucks for bron, but this isore on his teammates than him. Even if he hit all 14 shots they'd still lose the game by 10 or so.

Also. Poor defensive effort by a team that's supposed to be so strong defensively.

I still won't count the cavs out. The celtics are weak at home and clevelad can still bust ass.

This is proof that the cavs are lebron and everyone else. The nets have a better team if you plugged lebron in, so do the knicks, heat and bulls.

I laugh at people who mention shaqs name. He's performing admirably for his age, but the man is 38, he's done and has no real impact.

The cavs, if they can somehow get by the celtics will get mollywhopped by the magic, and beaten by la.

And when kobe was passive against the suns back in 06? I don't remember ewwell picking up his bat to go on kobe's side- so why bother judging what people are doing now when it's the same for Kobe?

Personally I don't like it either way, no matter the player. You have clowns saying lebron has lost a step. Really now.
