No more excuses left for The King. He got Shaq even at his age a legit center needed to get thru the East. He got his all-star pf Jamison. Already had all-star guard Mo Williams who is now the 3rd or 4th option with Jamison and Shaq so he has no pressure to be the #2 on the team. Fellow defensive first teamer Varejao.
All I know is if the Lakers lose this year all of the blame will be put on Kobe so the same should go for Lebron the two-time regular season MVP.

The point is simple: Since the Magic have gotten significantly better, it's unfair to look at last year's series and say now that the addition of KG would make the difference since they were up 3-2 last year. That would make sense if this were nearly the same Magic team...but it's not. The team is different and they're playing significantly better basketball now.
In this case it is not homie. Because I saw pages of people who have not contributed anything to any basketball threads and all of a sudden they are posting in every basketball thread and creating multiple threads because Lebron had one bad game.

..what's happening to Lebron is what happened to Kobe Bryant. You put a player too high up on a pedestal, and you're going to create another group who wants to pull him down.
Everybody can agree that Lebron is a great player, but everyone doesn't agree on HOW great he is. It's the same with Kobe. The further you stand out from the crowd, the easier it is for people to notice you and over-criticize or over-hype.
What you see forming is the anti-fandom that Kobe has had longer than Lebron has been in the league. Players who get hyped as much as Kobe and Lebron have to be damn near perfect to quell most of the criticism.
Lebron is a two-time MVP with no championship rings. That makes him an easy target to people who are sick of his fans and the hype.

My problem with people who talk about how great Lebron is is they put him head and shoulders above everyone in the league. No other player in the league is in the same stratosphere as him. If he's that great then he shouldn't need the help Kobe, D-Wade or Melo needs to win a championship.
He's a great player but he's a lot closer to the other great players in the league then the media wants you to believe.

These are stans. I have no problem being critical of players... but the bias is obvious when a poster has 20 points and 15 of them mention Kobe Bryant.
In terms of the rest, I dont disagree at all. The regular season MVP is beginning to be a curse of death like the Madden Curse..when was the last time a regular season MVP actually won the title that year or even made it to the Finals.
I dont have any problems criticizing any player. It is just ridiculous when all the lurkers come out of lurkerdom and criticize any player for ONE bad game. Now, if the Cavs win the series and Lebron carries them, are they going to be equally supportive...you bet not..... because this has nothing to do with that and more to do with Kobe stans being upset Kobe being usurped by some of the younger players in the league.
He is the best player in the league. However, he is going to need a clear number 2. No different than Kobe needing a great coach and then Gasol to get over the hump...no different than MJ needing a great 2 in Scottie Pippen and a great coach in Phil Jackson.
Also, if they get knocked out against Boston, Lebron is an easy target and he will know clearly have the monkey on his back about winning a title...he has it now, but now it will be really huge if they dont even make it to the ECF....completely busted season when all these moves were made to get them past Orlando.
Besides the 2004 Pistons team, when was the last time a title was one without a tandom of at least two great to good players in their prime and usually there is a great coach in the picture.
The problem with the Cavs is that they are too dependent on Lebron. Ive seen Kobe only score 15 points in THIS playoff run and the Lakers actually can still win....Lebron cant afford to have an off-night with this team..
When the Jamison trade was made that was suppose to lock up the championship for the Cavs. He's supposed to be Lebron's #2. He's not showing up in this series but a couple months ago the Cavs had the best team in the league and now the usual excuse comes up that he doesn't have any teammates.
Jamison is a 19ppg guy for his career. I haven't watched many of the games this series but could it be that Jamison isn't being utilized the way he should to be the most effective? He was brought in to take pressure off Lebron. Is he being allowed to do that?
