I had to research to see how this worked. There is a hole in the bottom of the cup (obviously), but the hole has a metalic lip. There is a circular magnet at the bottom of the cup that attaches to the metalic lip of the hole once they lift the cup off the dispenser. If you watch closley, you can see that the magnets in this gif are red. You can see that they separate from the bottom of the cup when they are sat on the dispenser.
