The Notorious Movie

Just saw the movie. Happy I did.

I see a movie almost every week and its the best 10 bucks I spent on one since The Dark Knight. Might even buy the DVD.

Biggie was a highly talented entertainer. No-one except an aspiring entertainer should consider an entertainer as a role model.

Peace

That movie was Good. Had me cracking up how diddy was dancing. Niggas stop hating. From my understand, that movie was the best move that had a Bio Pic of a rapper.

Now somebody pic up Lil Kim sex scenes because she was an boss.

this is what I hate about some of us.....you got to make every thing a battle between 2 or more brothas...let the man's work live...:smh::smh::(

IMO...YES IMO before 20 cats start wilding out....

BIG better lyricist
Pac better overall artist

Pac was not as gifted in story telling...and ryhming...but his lyrical content shitted on BIG and I'm a brooklyn cat...

dude made music for everyone...and talked about real relevant issues in our communities like police brutality....drugs...rascism....violence....

he led a more interesting life...and honestly he should have had a movie before BIG....

now about him thugging I won't front he didn't start thugging late into his career....at 15 he was dancing and in a good performing arts school....I forgot all you 15 yr olds dudes back then were all toting AK's ....and I wouldn't call him "gangsta" but I will say he did shit his way.....and kept alot of shit real....even his battle with the media...police...activists....enemies...and congress...

ya need to stop trashing dude and his work....or any brotha.....its really disgusting.....:smh:

ALL OF WAT HE SAID!!!

I saw it yesterday, and i am glad i did. I enjoyed it. It never claimed that it was gonna be on the level of "Malcom X" or "Ray." It was more of a film about a dude trying to find his way. I learned some things about BIG I never knew, and dude who played him did a good job. You have to understand that you are not going to get Denzel Washington playing Biggie...you didn't need it. I can think of movies that are far worse than this one.....FAR WORSE. People are upset because they don't understand why they made a movie about him. They feel he didn't make any lasting contributions, but did Ray? They are both musicians who had interesting stories which translated well on screen. All in all, I would go see it again, and purchase the DVD.

^^^ C/S, I thought the movie was well made.

This movie was so damn wack I snuck in to see Marley & Me instead. I cried when the dog died but it was better than watching that cornball ass movie.

What do you base that comparison on??

Don't waste your time with ignorance. We as blacks don't have a chance in this country. While this guy is bootlegging the movie and bad mouthing it. The media is trying to connect stabbings and shootings to this film to further discredit it, and hurt box office returns.

Whether you agree with the casting of the film or whether or not BIG was influential. Know that a film was made about a black man, you didnt support it, and thats why 1 black film makes it to the theaters a year.

so i finally just checked it out
i dont know what some of you cats are talking about. It was a good flick, took me right back to 1994 the story went exactly as i remembered. Also the casting was right on,except they could have found someone else to play cease.Bassett nailed ms wallace to the T
gravy made me feel like i was watching biggie himself. I dont know what exactly you cats were looking for, some super action hero packed movie?

I WOULD NOT PAY 1 PENNY TO SEE THIS MOVIE!! There must be some age/generation difference in those who like the movie and those who are not interested.

We saw Not Easily Broken and that movie was worth every hard-earned cent. Something for the brothers & sisters... Black man, good hard-working man and how he was almost driven into another woman's arms. They should have marketed Not Easily Broken better than they did

I saw young whites, older whites, and older blacks in Notorious. They were all interested in a legend that was taken from us far too soon. Whether you agree with the guys lyrics or not. You cant doubt he was an influential figure.

The director of this film tried to promote growing up, and changing to black youth. See the film(Bootleg or not). Then post.

well I'll be got damn!

I watched it (bootleg of course), and I gotta say, the movie was pretty good, MUCH better than i expected.

I'm totally surprised, it kept me in the whole way, and I think they painted him in a pretty fair light. They didn't make him perfect, but they showed his growth, which you could see from the differences between the first and second album.

They took a lot of poetic license (expected), but I think they cut a lot of the right fluf, and made a pretty intriguing story that I can't be mad at.

IF I WOULD HAVE PAID FOR THIS, I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN MAD.

But I didn't, so I'm reeeeeeaaaaaallly not mad, LMAO

RIP Biggie. I liked some of your work. You sure could rap.

Oh yeah, Gravy did an excellent job of bringing Big to the screen. he should definitely look to do more acting.

Yall racists fucks loved that 8 Mile bullshit though.
Yall went out to support eminem who could give two shits about yall.

how do you know what anybody on here supported. I can never understand, how people make these equations. If they didn't like it, they didn't like it, why bring another movie made 5 years ago into it.

It's possible to just NOT like something.

Movie wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. But then again I watched it in the comfort of my home courtesy of BGOL. Thanks ;)
The end when his moms rolled down the window was a tear jerker. Imagine losing your child and then to see thousands of people mourning and celebrating his life. If that don't make one take a deep breath, I don't know what would.

It came in Fourth this weekend making 21.5 million, which doesn't seem that bad. It got beat by "Mall Cop" which made 34 million...
