The Handmaid's Tale: the 2nd best thing you’ll watch all year

Season 6
Final Season
10 Episodes

I started watching the final season at home yesterday and finished this afternoon today at home on Disney+/Hulu.

It immediately started off after the final events in the season 5 finale.

Reality finally hit Aunt Lydia that Gilead isn’t what she thought it was.

Serena’s hard headed Ass had to learn the hard way that Gilead wasn’t gonna change.

The season started out showing Gilead to have fully taken control of the 48 states. The US, ARMY is on the brink of defeat and only controls Alaska/Hawaii after being pushed out of Canada.

Episode 9 is probably the best episode of the season with the rebellion against Gilead getting its mojo and rising up.

The finale wrapped up all the major surviving characters status. There were a lot of surprises on how they ended up.

Disney is planning a follow up series to the book authors sequel “The Testaments”. It’s unknown at this time how many characters will debut. Aunt Lydia has been confirmed to be in it.

Looking forward to it.

What's next for 'The Handmaid's Tale'? What we know about 'The Testaments'

A "Handmaid's Tale" sequel "The Testaments" is in production at Hulu. The upcoming series is also being helmed by Miller. "The Testaments," described by Hulu as "a coming-of-age story that finds a new generation of young women in Gilead grappling with the bleak future that awaits them," will pick up more than 15 years after the events of "The Handmaid’s Tale."

Streaming Ratings: ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ Finale Delivers Strong Showing for Hulu

The Hulu series based on Margaret Atwood’s novel drew 900 million minutes of viewing for the week of May 26-June 1; the final episode began streaming on May 27. That’s the third highest weekly total on record for The Handmaid’s Tale, behind the final season’s premiere week (921 million minutes) and the opening week of season four in 2021 (1.04 billion minutes), both of which had three new episodes. (The show’s first three seasons predate Nielsen’s streaming charts.)
