this shit plays every kind of video file even mkv files:yes:

the quality looks better then the dvd's you burn

I keep buying and returning it to best buy unopened. Its on sale for 99 every other week. My dvd player with usb was 60 bucks and it plays most files I have.

nah i already have like 4 DVD players im done with them


plus i think in your dvd player you can only connect a USB flash drive, not a full external hardrive 500gb

It works with externals but it wont play the few mkv I have. It also sucks at displaying file names. How is the WD when it comes to file names and sorting vids?

Does it show full file names? My dvd player only shows eight letters so I often only see the release group name which makes it difficult to look through a few hundred gigs.

yes in full size names and when you put the shadow over a file the name of the file turns big and scrolls


ok what ever the file name is on the drive thats the name it will have in the HD tv player, it will show the full name no matter how long the title is
 
Pretty neat device, will prove very useful until the price of dual band wireless N routers come down which will allow me to stream HD content without affecting data transfer rate.

This is my question... Lets say I DL an R5 and play it on this... will it upconvert the R5 to HD through this device???

my brother pick up 1 a few months back; he said the same thing, that he would never buy a dvd again; he has a couple of sites that he visits an he just downloads everything; im picking 1 up...:yes:

thanks. should be getting mines any day now. Someone asked if this would only work with WD HD's. It will work with almost and HD, correct?

Yes. Of course every official pic of the product will have a WD hard drive plugged into it but it but don't fear, it WILL work with any external HD and/or thumb drive (there are Two usb slots).

slam make sure you do the firmware upgrade when i fisrt got it the sound was out of sync on the movies then after i did the firmware upgrade the sound was good:yes:
