That certified letter was the definitive moment right there. Anybody with any sense knows that at that point, you better not have any more material there. That's exactly what you're claiming.
I don't work high level anything, but I know for sure that once something is in writing (* especially if it is signed off on), it can always be referred back to as a definitive statement. It's why I ask for stuff in writing. It's why, when I put something in writing, I make sure that all my ducks are in a row.
But this was always going to be a thing with Trump. Because they've let him get away with so much. They helped him get away with so much. So why would he be afraid of consequences when no one has held him to any thus far.
You're right, and his lawyers should have reigned him in, but that was never going to happen. He just doesn't operate that way.
