THE CANNABIS THREAD 101!!

I had more cuttings of the Orange Diesel V3.0 so I ran with it but slightly changed the program. I set out intending to let this crop flower for at least 12 weeks. Because of this, I used the vegetative nutrients for the first 4 weeks of the flowering lighting pattern (12/12) instead of the manufacturer's recommended 2 weeks. I also purchased a bottle of Nitrogen to add to the reservoir to help keep the leaves greener during the extended flowering time, which worked well.

The photo below is as of day 92 of flowering. I have been flushing for 2 weeks now and am patiently waiting to see the trichomes turn from clear to milky and then amber. I plan to harvest when I notice about 80% of the trichomes have turned amber.

Have a look at the update in the Orange Deisel Diary update. There are some more details in there and I will add more photos soon. Unfortunately, I did not take too many photos of this grow, but I will take some more of them so you can see what they look like when the plants have gone full term.

I have a mixed grow vegging nicely. I rarely do a mixed batch on the same NFT table, because you cannot feed each plant individually, so if one or two are growing faster or slower you cannot adjust the nutrients to suit.

Photos to follow but this is the list of what maybe coming,

  • Purple Afghan
  • OG Kush
  • Blueberry Cookies
  • Strawberry Banana
  • Cookie Kush
  • Ocean Grown Cookies
  • Bubba Kush

I currently have a number of cuttings in my veg tent that I have vegged to mother plants in order to take cuttings from to do a run with and the remainder will be sold through my local grow shop.

1 x Orange Diesel Version 3.0
3 x Mimosa
2 x Banana MAC
2 x Ice Cream Cake

photos to follow.

@A to Dah K

I remember that we spoke about this some months back. Did you mention what strain you were working with? It looks like a "white" to me, like the widow, Russian, or shark but I am probably wrong.

What are the hours of light/dark where you are.? Here in the UK, our first night of 12 hours of darkness is 21st/22nd October but we already have heavy fog at night which is extreme humidity so not good for maturing buds, and by late November it will soon be freezing at night so most outside grows get harvested during the next 4 weeks.

How are you planning on drying and/or curing? That can make or break a good grow. I try to keep temperatures at 21C and humidity at 50-55% for about 14 days. Then I begin to cut/disassemble the plant. This allows the chlorophyll to be broken down getting rid of a lot of the "green" taste. Dry trimming takes a little longer because the leaves curl inwards so more time is needed for each cut, but I feel it is worth the extra work.

not sure the strain got the seeds from someone
during summer sun up is like 6-6:30 sundown like 8:30-9

now sundown is like 6:30
Im gonna dry for like a week or so, we’ll see. Then cure(jars)for another week or so.
I did most of the trimming already, will do a little more after dry. I have a dehumidifier set at 55

@A to Dah K

Only up until 5am? I got about 6, 9 hour days of trimming in front of me. And I hate this part of the job. When I first started I was excited to get it done because I knew the money was coming. I had 2-3 girls come by to help me, smoke as much as they like, open bar, food delivered, and a spare bedroom for them to crash. This time I have no trusted hands on deck!

I have just bought a new bicycle last week. The plan is to do a 2 hour (25 mile) bike ride each day before lunchtime and then I find it easier to sit around and trim this stuff. Without the bike ride, I would get fed up and bored and easily distracted. Also, I am overly meticulous with my trimming, in fact, the correct word to describe it would be manicuring.

Luckily Orange Diesel V3.0 is known for it'd energising and focusing qualities. It's mad, it does not make you drowsy at all, in fact, I have noticed and others have commented that you cannot fall asleep smoking this.

Whilst I trim I will take some photos with the microscope to show you all the trichome formations.

Always got a plan ( I grew up watching the A-Team), but I will discuss that with you after completion, (for legal reasons...)

Here are some pictures of what is going on currently in the other 2 tents

Unfortunately, I burnt the tops of some of these but I am not too concerned, tomorrow is the start of week 3 so plenty of time to recover. They have been lollipoppped and I may do some bending to get the canopy level. The nighttime temperatures are rapidly dropping here and as a result, I thought that I could turn on the third light but I closed the garage door which meant the ambient temperature of the garage rose too high. The problem I have is that I have condensation building up on the inside walls of the tents.

These are all mums that I have started from cuttings back in early June. There is one Orange Diesel at the back of the taller plants and the 3 in front of it are Mimosas. The 4 smaller plants are stunted for some reason, 2 of them have started to pick up over the last 3 weeks but they should be the same size as the 3 Mimosas. They all arrived at the same size and time. Probably going to take a lot of Mimosa cuttings in the up and coming week and will keep 20 to complete a run with for myself.

I have hopes that the Banana MACs and Ic Cream Cake pick up. They have at least another 15 weeks to pull through as I plan to close the garden down and pack it up after completing the Mimosas.

I got those plants to grow, then I got hit with spider mites

I was talking to somebody a couple of days back and he told me that if you are able to fend off the worst of the spider mite infestation until you can harvest then you should tie the plants up, upside down. The spider mites will make their way to what is now the top off the plant. Then take a blow torch and burn those fuckers to kingdom come!

I would love to find some Orange Diesel seeds.
Can't help you with that, I purchased cuttings. From memory the original genetics were Sour Diesel crossed with Agent Orange.

Some of which I let grow into Mums and the others we vegged and flowered. I don't think it is a strainn that I would bother with again. I did 3 runs with the ODv3. The first I flowered for 10 weeks the second flowered for 11 and the third flowered for 13.5 weeks. Not a massive yielder and the buzz is prodominantly sativa orientated. It doea not knock you on your arse, but it is good for focusing and concentrating enabling you to do things. Nice buzz, very cerebral it's just a lot of people judge the quality of weed by how stoned/incapacitated it gets them. Just like people who rate cocaine by the freeze effect that they get, no knowing that the "freeze" can be added by cutting it with lidocaine.

I'm about to start some Panama Red and some Viet DaLat and the breeder told me to flower at least 15 weeks due to it being a sativa. I know why my sativas were always ok not ever outstanding due to me not knowing about the extra flowering time.

Hello smokers and growers. Need help, looking to order some cannabis seeds. Can someone direct me to a website? I don't live in a state where cannibis is legal.

Sorry fella I'm in a different part of the Northern hemisphere.

Not knowing how things work in your neck of the woods I wouldn't want to advise you.

But if it was me I would definelty apply the quote by Douglas Badder

"The rules are written for the obedience of fools and the guide lines for wise men".... ya smellz me?

I'm sure someone will be able to give you a pointer, I don't think this thread is getting traffic like it used to but someone will be along...

Thanks, I feel ya

OK! Thanks for the heads up.

***EDIT*** @GAMBINO

I watched that and don't quite know how I feel about it. I will watch, listen and read anything related because you never know when you are going to come acroos that jewel of information that can transform what we do, A new method, a new product, tips and advice can come from anywhere. But these guys I don't feel were genuinely contributing. I feel that it was more self-promotion and I'm not even sure what they are promoting. The presentation of the guy that walked us through the line of people opening the weed was DEAD! He needs to write a script and stick to it instead of freestyling, "oh fo sho, fo sho!"

But thanks for posting I had not seen their work before and please post anything else that you feel is worthy of our attention because like I said you never know where that next piece of helpful information is going to come from.

Thank you Gambino

Got you. I had to edit in a way where a lot of information don't incriminate the people in it. Lol a lot got left out unfortunately.

This another one, now this clone took longer to grow

I didn’t take pics of the roots when they were clones

This is what I saw, the plant I posted first, those clones pushed out roots fast af
The roots jus shot out the stem

This plant the stem grew some bumpy shit and then the roots came out, it looked like when trees get those bumps,
These clones stayed bushy
