Sweet Jesus my heart can’t take this...
How are we the only two fam.. watching this shit!!!!
My gawd.. I’m going collapse.
i'm enjoying yall commentary. i really don't watch shows live. i'll catch up tomorrow for sure.
shit i might cry after the finale
real talk this has been on my favorite shows all time. proably second only to the wire or breaking bad
Could Stan’s girl be the wild card? The center has been really good at doing their homework!
About three years ago, FX gave me about the most perfect end to a television series with that last scene in Justified between Raylan and Boyd looking at each other through partition glass ("we dug coal together").
I'm praying they can do it again next week with what has been one of the best television shows I have ever seen, that has been so trascendent that it's all but ruined everything else in the spy genre for me.
ehhh - granted most spy flicks are about black ops and counterintelYeah I’m with you fam.... this show has single handedly raised the bar on the spy game. Not only was this one of the best television shows of all time.. Its the best spy thing I’ve ever seen. I’m including movies, tv shows, video games, and mini-series. Nothing compares to this. Hell a couple weeks ago... they spent a good two minutes showing the meticulous details that are needed to just decode a message.

Americans is a great show but its not the be all best work on trade craft
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy the BBC mini series (the movie is almost as good)
Russia House
The Good Shepard is also pretty good- some trade craft -mostly high level stuff
I’ve seen all of those and I have to respectfully disagree. It’s the level of attention to detail that this show does that Other properties can’t match.... mainly because they didn’t have the time to allow the small details to things. Like the fact that Phillip and Elizabeth keep separate wedding rings to signify the legit marriage because they feel that their real marriage is a cover. The call backs to small unnoticeable things from prior seasons... like Elizabeth smoking like a sailor in Season 1... when she felt like she was alone on that job even though she was married to Phillip they weren’t together together.. that when she was invested in the relationship she kicked the habit but fell back into that pattern when then Season she had to alone again. Cigarettes where her outlet.. turns out that cigarettes were one of the things that got Stan on to them because even in Season 1... she never smoked in front of people because she didn’t want to add something that has her stand out.. it was one small detail that only a long time fan would catch but it ended up becoming important.
Like this show... actually worked to make being a spy seem like a job. There is no glamor. There is no reward. You do what you were trained to do. And just like any job... the show did it best to show how this type of routine wears you down... where you have to ask “is it even worth it, why am I doing this?” Phillip went through this with Martha and Elizabeth finally had her moment this season.. when she realized that her Country cares more about old ideals then peace and that they were willing to kill a comrade to protect them... which was counter to her training. That’s what made the flashback so effective.. she realized that the Centre has lost their way.
for fans of the spy genre any of y'all try counterpart. traditional spy show with a si-fi twist
Jesus is Stan outside the college waiting to see if they pick up Paige. Ughh
