The Adversity Black Women Face

Not discredit, everybody faces adversity but what makes you think that the adversity that black woman face is more important/ worse that what other people have to face?

where was this said? where did u get that from?:smh:

i mean didn't i just respond like 3 times saying its not a scale or competition?

I think it's pointless to argue over who has it worse, especially when it deals with other countries because we Americans tend to be a tad jingoistic and US-focused subconsciously. That's said, Black women do face disadvantages in America, but Black men are right there with them in terms of disadvantages.

Sometimes I feel like black men are always waiting, just waiting to stick it to us. Why can't they feel us? When we say we struggle, it doesn't mean that they struggle any more or less. We have to be our own advocates and we can't get support from our own men because they are always trying to one-up us

If ya'll think you are facing adversity you should try talking to some of the sisetrs in the caribbean or latin american countries. The next time you take a trip to Jamaica stop looking down your noses at those sisters and have a conversation with those sisters and see what real adversity is.
Once again: READING COMPREHENSION. Thread title: the adversity BLACK women face. Women in the Caribbean are black women  Who says we look down on black women in other countries? Or do you hate black women so much that you want to start some rivalry between us?

I look at this and the post that follows it and...just...shake...my...head.

This is one of the more (maybe the most) interesting threads I've seen on SOL. I have no real input at this time but just observing the responses has been most interesting and enlightening.

As much as many of ya'll going to hate me saying this, but majority of complaints I hear *outside of the internet* tend to be overexaggerated. There are women, that are in good situations, still complaining about random shit. So my question is this, to the women of this board, are you sure that you are truly dealing with adversity thats worth complaining?

no one's replied to this and this is a very good question.....

actually this question was addressed many times over

as i said 9 billion times before

no one is complaining...this is a discussion thread but i guess the mere act of us mentioning it is seen as complaining

2ndly...who are you(we) to say someone's adversity isn't worth "complaining"? we don't know that person's history and what cards they have been dealt with in life.

the statement "worth" is subjective

but why complain about the next man's/woman's adversity at all? if you complain about it won't go away. if you ignore it, it won't go away. which of the two options is less of a burden upon yourself especially if the outcome is more then likely the same? i complained and criticized members on the board who were for beating a woman to cause an abortion. do you think my rant really changed anyone's mind? no.

let them deal with it. may sound cold but we bog ourselves with things that are beyond our control sometimes and the only end result is stress upon yourself.

instead of going about it as adversities, think moreso of obstacles. adversities you dread. obstacles you'll try to beat.

tomatoe tomato lol

i overcome adversities all the time....u can call them obstacles...w/e

just b/c someone is mentioning them doesn't mean they are doing nothing about them

i mean really..what was said in this thread that would support you drawing that conclusion?

please scroll up a couple of responses to my response to actin and bqblaque12 (sp) and read what I said the thread was about

on a grander scale....

i'm still tryna figure out what was said in this thread to support a lot of the conclusions that have been drawn such as: 1) who faces more adversities, 2)we are complaining and so on...seriously

i mean selective reading and biased interpretation is at an all time high in this thread.
