Terrifier 3 trailer

I saw the first 2

ain't no story line no narrative arc

Those movies don't make no type of any sense.

Nobody goes to these movies for all that.

But if this director writer was actually able to make this all make sense?

Woo boy.
Definitely disagree lol

But! You BEEN sayin this type shit just ain’t for you. That’s all good. (Truth be told - shit ain’t for me EITHER!) :tut::hypnotised::thefinger::lol:

but, You respect the hustle.(likewise)
You give the props.(same)

and, You not tryna pitch fork mob the nigga or shit on folks who do enjoy lol (for the most part hahaha)

These flicks don’t NEED to have a story line in the way you mean - but all 3 of these do

Don’t NEED to have narrative arcs - but again all 3 actually do!

These type flicks don’t need to make no type of any sense — that was a WILD sentence to retype btw lmfao

As you imply - gore core audiences will fuck with them regardless;

but again, all of the 3 terrifier flicks absolutely are easy to distinguish from most anything I’ve ever seen on par - budget/concept wise

The terrifier short (2011) which, compared to any of the 3 features, is much more like a no budget flick is supposed to be… even that also still makes some type of sense; and, when I saw it - was clear to me why it stood out enough from others in the genre that are gore fwd and very little more story set acting etc wise than the barest justification for gettin off their practical fx - which Leone also does better than most - to where it got genre fans talking it up

Cause like you said - “nobody” watches these movies for all that (I only checked this shit out bec it was being talked about like it’s different/better/elevated etc) and I went in hella skeptical and was pleasantly surprised

From what I’ve seen in flicks and interviews etc and what I’ve read, Leone is wildly committed to finding the balance between satisfying himself as a storyteller/filmmaker AND satisfying his fans, while growing the base and expanding the scope and reach to find connections for/with new audiences.

But whatever new shit I’ve seen so far, from the shorts… to the features… and from T1… to 2 and now to T3, all the unique pieces are present, right from the flash fwd that starts Terrifier 1 and then bookends it AND Terrifier 2.

He’s digging in his bag (the shit he’s already put on screen) and building it out as canon for Art/Art’s world in a way that is intentional and I think w/4 and maybe even 5… dude can take it to some uncharted territory both in story and setting and character mythology.

I try to look at shit like this from perspective of would this shit work without the gore?

And what I found is that some of it is actually BETTER because of the gore! Story wise. Characters wise. And that’s new for me OR super rare. Definitely in what I’ve seen of this type of “nobody goes to these movies for all that” sub genre shit. [I hate to name drop but the og 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre does come to mind in terms of the gore/comedy/grounded no budget production value lunacy]

Like I said, when it comes to what I’ve seen of this sub genre, mostly everything is window dressing FOR the gore and fx in these type movies regardless of budget.

I’m in for the ride with Leone and Art tho. Cause to me — Woo boy! They GOT the goods haha
And shit - Ice and Coco approve!

The first one was very realistic . Like watching what a psychopath killer would behave like. That diner scene is just wild creepy because there are guys like that who act like that towards women . It felt real and sick . The second one was goofy and over the top. I actually fell asleep and woke up 3/4ths of the way through. I want to see more of a natural realism with creepy lighting.

Movies like this need to be filmed with that 80’s orange tint retro filter .

Thanks for gettin back!

I’ve heard similar comparisons for folks who also prefer 1 over 2 or just hate 2 outright.

I don’t see as much of a difference between 1 and 2 - in spite of the obvious differences. But there is a huge jump in what he is swinging for so to speak.

I hadn’t seen 1 when I saw 2 and I came in late to 2 — basically missed the cold open callback/carryover from 1 and saw the opening credits and everything from then on.

As soon as it started for me I got Nightmare vibes and specifically Dream Warriors. Which I recently read filmmaker say he was kind of goin for with 2. That’s a flick I love. So it was goofy and over the top in ways I wasn’t mad at. Also - it’s a killer clown… so… you know over the top and goofy seem kinda mandatory lol.

Clearly I benefited from seeing 2 first and then seeing the other shit leading into a rewatch of 2 that I could then appreciate even more.

If you watched WandaVision series - this is kinda like that. He’s doing a different genre/sub genre of gore horror with each film. The way they did a different sitcom/sitcom era for each episode of WandaVision. But there’s a bigger story tying all of it together. Even tho the style hopping is mostly just nostalgic fun that you either enjoy or don’t enjoy.

If you ain’t seen WandaVision this won’t make the same type of sense lol but that 80s bad transfer/degraded vhs presentation look you ref is def also aligned with how Marvel did that series visual style episode to episode.

Terrifier 2 and Nightmare 3 wise - dude has that end/post credit scene that is direct reference to Dream Warriors iykyk shit hahaha

You realize you wrote ALL that and basically agreed with me?

You got the skills to write Terrifer 4 in a week.

which is 5 more days than the director took to write all 3 of these.

I didn't see 1or 2 and saw this and yeeeaaah. When I left outta that joint I didn't know what to say or feel,it was whatever.

I liked the end,slick.

I’m halfway done with a script about a Psychotic loner that dresses like a Cat and travels to Brazil to unleash violence on Trannies after his father caught him dabbling in faggotry. Will he reform? Will he repent? Will he slaughter half the country?

TRANSMAN! If you tuck, you’re fucked.

Yeah...I'm just kidding

kinda

If they ACTUALLY crafted even a simple narrative thread?

This thing would be OUTTA here.

But the core audience loves it and we KNOW what we getting with this so its fine for what it is.

But I can't have these fans going out there like this is the godfather of horror movies either.
