Teedra Moses Tiny Desk Concert

Ok, I stand corrected. And she did say that the $5 Mil was before the lawsuit.

So again the writing and publishing is big, but also that song is certified "gold" like "Pump It Up" was certified Gold until 2024. And even then Joe said "Pump" was probably 3X if not more.

Dip it Low, I estimate is in the 2 or 3X platinum range. Add to that that it was in movies, tv shows and ads.

Now you got me doing math, haha!
But let's just say conservatively 2X platinum = $4 mil.... then add advertisements, movies and comp albums over 20 years.... I can see an additional $1 mil+ for the total to equal $5 mil.

Now for her personally to get $5 mil, that song would have to be at least 3X platinum. That's $6 mil, plus album points, ads, movies....etc for a total of $7.5 - 9 mil, yeah Teedra would get close to $5 mil of that.

But the actual figure is probably in the lawsuit paperwork that was filed for ole boy to get $1 or $1.5 mil...... but I don't have time or the energy to look into that.

The big unknown is the actual sales numbers. RIAA certification is for the artist, writers and producers..... the label can have an intern fill out the paperwork. But the label accountants have to send those checks (writing/ producing/ publishing) or face potential lawsuits.

Maybe @woodchuck insight to this
Unhuh

I'd fuck the shit out of Mrs Huxtable

Its amazing that she's been able to tour, feed her family off of essentially 1 song for 20 years. Especially considering how fucked up music contracts were/ are. She still seems to get decent royalties/ publishing checks cuz every few years that song is in something or somewhere.

Her initial label situation was fucked up which is why it took so long for her 2nd CD to drop. She has said that she made a good amount of money from writing Dip It Low for Christina Milian. I wish that she did more work with Raphael Saadiq because the songs that they've done together were fire
