Any gaming?

$500 not including a monitor, right?

Would you take a comparable laptop in the same price range?

Amazon or radio shack if you can find a store the have great sales on overstock and close out...

..or them best buy middle tables

staples.com - surprisingly
microcenter.com
tigerdirect.com
newegg.com

staples is definitely a sleeper.

I got an HP earlier this year, pretty much the same as that star wars branded one. after sale price and a $50 rebate I paid i think under $450. regular price was close to $700.

Overall nobody fuckin with microcenter prices and selection and being able to go in store (if you live near one)and even buy open box of you want an extra discount

Da Don finna come through this bitch like

Desktop or laptop?

Better to build your own one
This is what I usually do, but I havent done it in at least 6-7 years and I haven't been keeping up with hardware technology.

And I'm not sure I have the time or the resources I used to have to install Windows & all the apps I would need/want and troubleshoot everything.

How time intensive is it these days? Any resources that make it easier or faster?

@Coldchi what chu got fa me mane... on the download side of the game?

I'm not up on the what the minimum specs are right now...

So I need to know minimum hard drive memory aND processer speed and preferred brands.

if going for a desktop building is the best option. you can do it for under 300 if you shop right. it also depends on if you're brand loyal like some folks are. building will give you more flexibility when it comes to possible upgrades in the future. i just recently "low budget pimped" (my personal catchphrase for cheap but effective shopping) for a friend for about 250 and its a nice pc. amd quad core processor, 1tb hard drive, 8gb ram. all of it on sale at various sites. mostly newegg and microcenter.

I'm about to push the button on this if I can find the coupon...

But can anyone confirm if the processor is good?

I keep hearing I should pay more attention to that.
