in my social travels since that tape came out and various other shit was rumored about Best of Both Worlds Tour - no matter barber shop, mechanic / garage bars / parties, work / water cooler, bbq, church events, planes buses and trains, whatever /where ever
I didn't meet a man who said idgaf about Kelly - not one
cont...
the ONLY men I ever came across that said idgaf re: Kelly
were in the music industry and they were directly making money off of Kelly
or they were gay
or both
1. what kind of estrogen fueled question is this? by what logic did you get to this question based on my last post?
2. In any case -how are we supposed to support women when they don't even support themselves?
even after the doc -I'm seeing a strong corp of women aggressively defending Kelly
Pay attention to the podcasts radio this week etc and you'll notice a softening in tone this week because they are getting real smoke from large numbers of black women (or you will be hearing about how forgiving the women in our community are etc etc)
be honest - set aside the pc propaganda - what demo overwhelmingly watches BET?
what demo keeps buying his music and is in his shows?
Do you imagine the part our community buying NBA tickets are also lining up to buy Kelly concert tickets?
In your imagination can you see the elder big hat sunday crowd at church buying his concert tickets and posters?
Are you going in to barber shops for almost 2 decades now hearing men of all ages going hard defending Kelly or empathizing with his plight?
the answer to all of the above is hell fucking no...
(in my hood the barbers I know would invite you leave after you said some bullshit about supporting RKelly - only people that could get a pass on that would be women in there for a line up or eyebrows)
But the first thing out of you is we need better policing of this as a community, followed by a litany of feminist talking points
1st, my experience with men in regards to R Kelly are the complete opposite. The overwhelming majority didnt care about the tape. You saying you didnt meet a single man who said idgaf about the tape is a lie, just starting with BGOL its already a lie. We had those discussions here a bunch of us said we didnt care.
2nd I have a friend for example who bought a R Kelly on tour DVD, its like 70/30 women to men in the crowd. All these people who kept purchasing his products, women and men alike, are all telling you they do not care about the tape.
3rd to answer your question as to how we can support a group that doesnt support itself, the way i see it is those youths are out kids too. We should have been calling him out through the media. Call him out and his enablers too (male or female). Cause like i said we all knew what was up and we not even music insiders.
