How can a black person complain about image on a BLACK PORN BOARD. This is funny.
You can't say "fuck the media" the media is the best way to stop and correct the wrongs which it has perpetrated against non-whites since its beginning.
Then you have the nerve to defend Fox News. Where's Fox's coverage of the black woman who was kidnapped by whites raped, fed dog and rat feces and forced to drink from a toilet. What happened to this woman is far worse than what Vick did to those dogs. You claim your not white if your not your one delusional black.
I Have seen a lot of good comments on this topic. But i can tell a lot of you don't understand or know the media by anything other than what you see without thinking about the motivations behind it. number one thing you forget is hat it is about money-not black or white but green. The research shows what we are watching so if more young people with money that they are going to waste watch silly programming then what do you think you are going to get. the advertisers want those eyeballs and that is what the networks are going to try and get. this is where you have to accept responsibility and look at black people in general and try to educate the youth on varying their tastes so that they support more educational, positive, and better programming that is representative of us. Don't watch a bad show just because it has black people on it because that is what you're going to get more of.
Now when you talk about news, yes the coverage probably is disproportionate but so is the crime rate amongst people of color compared to people of other races. The solution to me is not to keep crying about coverage of black crimes but rather we need to make sure we are trying to keep the youth out of these situations to begin with. Now when we start giving less of a reason we can really complain.
the way I see it, you can look at it and wonder why our dirt gets borught to light more, or you can say well this is an opportunity to clean up our messes and mistakes which we need to do anyway, but to worry more about it being seen is backwards to me.

It's easy to be a dumb super moderator. I'll give you the formula. Post good info then take action and do it. 99% of people post info, complain, etc. 1% of us take action and physically do things.

one reason jews and gays get better exposure in the media is that they have members of their communities who care about them working in the media. Blacks in the media on the other hand ususally are a sick combination of Jigaboo/house negro. We need more people like Melvin van peebles in the industry to smack someone when they want to make the next soul plane or S.O.B
I'm quoting myself because this thread has died. Posting is one thing, but doing something is different. I'm not doing this to say "i told you so". If you want to change the black image, you need to build a core team to do it with you. That will be the hardest thing in the world to do. Put it like this learn about the talented 10th then you will see what I'm saying.
I have the opportunity of making change because I've aligned myself with a strong core of friends. Now we are on this financial tip where we can make noise. Plus I formed an investment group on here where I can do damage with that also. Shit will take time, but change will happen.
All in all you have to find a few select people who have the same compassion as you to make your plan about changing the image of black America. People always give me shit for saying I'm trying to save the ones who want to be saved then I will come back for the rest. Everyone has the idea of saving everyone in the hood. I have the theory of saving the dude who wants to be save versus that dude who is on some hood shit. I would waste too much effort saving the dude who doesn't want to be saved. Once I save all the cats who want to be save, I along with the dudes I save would come back and save the dudes who didn't want to be save. I hope I came across clear.

I'll chime in on this again. Here is something I have planned. We all know that there are wanna be teen thugs on the streets, but I feel there are 10 times more brothas doing positive things. Mentoring is a powerful thing. Once I achieve some personal goals to get me financially stable and let the country know who I am, I want to start a country wide mentoring program for young black dudes. There are opportunities for anyone to mentor, but I don't see a structured program around the country for one. I think that could make a big change 8 years from the date it is started. If anyone wants to steal this idea, fine. It's all for the better.

Because unlike Jews and Gays, Blacks embrace this same programming that you believe shows them in a negative light. Blacks LOVE the way they are portrayed in the media. And therein my friend lies your problem.
Why would you rage against something you love? Just try taking shows like The Wire, American Gangster, and Rap City off television and watch how many enemies you collect. Yes, you will have a lot of supporters but your enemies will far outweigh your supporters I assure you.

That is why we need to educate our own, re-evaluate our value system.
However the media also dictates our likes.
e.g. Sometimes we hear a song that we hate.
The radio plays it 5 times a day for a month.
At the end of the month we end up liking the song.
Suggestion is a powerful weapon..................
