Street Boxing wow

Co-sign. Loved hearing stories from dad and uncles about the fights they had back in the day against their foes at high school, or on other teams. I think my dad's best one was some guys trying to break into the family home. He was probably 18 - 20. He caught them in the act ... chased them down the street and one guy hid under a car. Dad pulled him out & shit-kicked him on someone's lawn. Dad was like - "well, the adrenaline was pumping ..."

Respect to pops. Bruh, I could relate. Most of them were in middle and high school.

I've had 17 fights in my life and lost 2. Lost to this gang affiliated 17 year old when I was 13 over a basketball game. I was nice with the crossover. I held back in that fight for fear of getting stabbed or jumped, etc. Smart choice at the time.

Now as an adult, outside of the ring, cage, or mat, I get into a few verbal confrontations but nothing to warrant physical fights.
I stay war ready but practice peace.

too much referee involvement for my taste. i even saw a corner man come out and break it up. wth

Damn. I hate hearing shit like that.
Violence among immediate families.
But once drugs get involved.
It's a wrap.
Thanks for sharing...

COTDAMN!!!

Update - got that dreaded phone call on Sunday. He OD'd and died on Saturday. His parents divorced way back in the day (early-90s). His mom and dad respectively were individually friends with my parents. Mom and his mom, dad and his dad. Mom saw the update on social media on Sunday and did a double-take and called me and sent me screenshots. My dad was out that day and I called him that evening. He was stunned - said it felt like the blood immediately rushed out of his body. His dad last saw him on Thursday, and has since been interviewed by the RCMP & will talk with them further. My dad's also reached out to his dad and they've talked things through. Dad also updated friends of their family, and I've done the same with some of our contacts. Talked to my cousin and he said it really hit home. The guy's parents introduced his own parents back in the 70s. Cousin lost his own dad in 1997, and mom around 2012.

The disease of addiction, for real. Nearly 30 years of his life were disrupted.
