His cousin literally was completely underwater when the worker came and saved his cousin.. did you not see the water look even deep for the worker who was taller than the kid.. that worker didn’t walk across the water to save his cousin he swam to him.. if the worker who swam to the kid who was completely underwater struggle to get him out what makes you think a preteen who couldn’t swim would do better?

Of course you don't have to swim if the water is below your head, but people panic or get disoriented and freak out.

I agree that it was dumb of his parents to let him get near water if he can't swim and I agree that everyone should learn how to at least doggie paddle, if not swim.

That's why I said if the water wasn't over his head, but it appears to have been below his head, based on his size compared to the man and the fact that the drowning boy's arms managed to reach out of the water enough for me to think it's not that deep. Usually, pools that size are 6 feet at the deep and 4 feet at the shallow, and the way the man walked out, I doubt if it was 6 feet.
BTW, if it were 6 feet, the mother should be arrested.
