oh I already hate January - she's horrible in every roll I've seen her play... she's only tolerable in non speaking roles...
all that tripedation and tension. everyone walking on eggshells, don being geniunely confused and taken aback by his reception. Them taking away all his toys and demoting him
his response a non-chanlant OK
funniest thing i've seen in years.
and oh Lou aint long for that world. He aint a creative heading up creative with the goat 'reporting' to him.
and god damn i cant stand Betty. Its to the point where i damn near hate January Jones.
I wish that Don had demanded they buy him out instead of reinstating him
which new motherfucker?? Lou (Peggys boss) or dude played by Harry Hamlin? Why is that one new motherfucker so pissed at Don?

IMO - tonight's episode set up the splitting up or even the collapse of SCDP
shit is going to be ugly

did anyone peep when Harry Hamill basically said he wants a non creative ad agency?
That shit plus last weeks shit with Pete? with Don being back - that place is about to go down...
I wish that Don had demanded they buy him out instead of reinstating him
yeah, that scene bothered me. w/ Megan cutting him off & the office looking at him like he has leprosy, not to mention that kick to the balls Peggy gave him it's like he just wants to be a part of something. this season is gonna force him to either succeed like a boss or fail terribly.
He was there to replace Don and felt threatened now that he's back.
Lou would be fired if Don was fully reinstated... and even though they say Don will be reporting to Lou - he is a partner and a superstar - while Lou is an employee and only a boss as long as Don keeps playing along with the other partners - very dangerous ground for Lou...
I get the feeling the partners are about to learn the same lesson Pete learned...
Don will reinvent himself and isn't scared to go back to 0 and start over
OK?
OK?
Fuck them Don - you are the metaphorically the cutest girl on the block - walk away and go to a bigger baddest Creative Director in the City -
Fuck them
oh and I am still hating Peggy from last week -
they are setting up a real rift - Jim Cutler is a shark but he doesnt know his ass from his elbow if he thinks that Lou (and Peggy) are going to hold client.
Fuck Joan - when all of the Partners wanted Porky to pork you for a the Jaguar Account - Don was th only one that had your back (and didnt try to fuck you)
Let me be clear - Don is no angel and he has stepped on his dick on multiple occasions but he is repentant to both the agency and to Megan - the only person cutting him slack is Sally now.
FYI - Why hasnt Dawn assigned Don another secretary by now -
But glad to see she has the position with little or no flack (so far).
more later while I take this call from the Wall Street Journal regarding my phantom Computer.
Bob Benson isn't completely gone is he? if not i have a feeling his return is gonna work to Don's advantage.
He's in Detroit, he took over their automotive contract so Pete could go to L.A.
He hasn't been seen on screen yet this season.
Unfortunately the actor who played Bob Benson is a regular on the Robin Williams show that nobody is watching so he is unavailable to be back - though we might get a cameo.
Don's being a partner means nothing after agreeing to their terms. The moment he even fucks up a little they can just take his partnership.
Also this Don is different from the Don that went head to head with Pete.
I think Don is through with running and reinventing himself.
I don't think he's ready to go back to that or go back to living a lie.
If he truly didnt care about starting over he would have told them no, made them buy him out and then started over at another agency.
I think Don is attached to and needs the love and approval of the people at that agency. He needs to be redeemed in tbeir eyes.
I've got to disagree... another agency isn't starting over... and starting over isn't the same as running away.
People that hit rock bottom aren't as scared of the unknown or too attached to possessions... so I don't think Don gives a shit about his shares, he has been rich since the acquisition by the British agency and hasn't shown signs of financial pressure even when the firm wasn't making $$, and so far this season he hasn't shown ANY ego or bitterness, having Freddy take all credit for his pitch work for the last 2 or 3 months at his own firm - someone with an ego wouldn't be anonymously doing pitch work for the firm that forced him out.
IMO Don loves the work - both the mass psychology and the creativity.
The partners think using the shares is leverage against him - I M O that's a big mistake if they didn't tack on a +1 yr non compete- and even then I could still see him walking away if only to be free. (remember how he avoided all contracts at first Sterling Cooper, even as creative director, shocking the shit out of Duck, until they made him a partner) Roger summed it up - on top of avoiding the financial hit none of them want Don as competition. And the way tonight's show went...
-Joan and Peggy went out of their way to make him a personal enemy
-Harry Hamlin statement of an agency without creative types,
-most of the partners believed they were firing Don, but forgot about the buyout? that's not a mistake Joan should make
Don is either going to be the competition in his own shop or the firm is headed for a meltdown
great breakdown but i gotta disagree with the assessment on Joan taking it personal. She has demonstrated that she is proably the most pragmatic amongst the partners. For her its all about doing whats best for her and her son long-term. For all Don's brilliance Joan has been exposed to all his warts. From fucking the secretary a few seasons back to the Hershey pitch Don can be bad for business for all his briallance. No one knows that better than Joan & Roger.
I hate the direction they are taking Peggy but it makes sense. She has a love/hate relationship with Don who made her and he never lets her forget. Lets not act like Don didnt throw cash in her face and basically called her whore when she wants the samething Don seems to want now, appreciation for her great talent outside of straight cash.
