Stephen A. Smith.... Lonzo Ball.. Petrified....

To be fair, Jason Kidd couldn’t shoot a lick either.

Ball has a few triple doubles under his belt he ions away from getting that 1st MVP.

Look, man ...

...people be comparing this guy to players with ridiculously high motors. Jason Kidd was strong and fast as shit, and played VERY HARD.

People mention Gary Payton, but Gary had that dog in him. The ATOMIC DOG.

That kid doesn't exhibit any of that shit.

It don't mean he can't be good, but when making comparisons, consider all factors.

As I said before, I'm not bothered as much by his shooting woes as I am his passiveness.

If that is his personality, that is his personality.

Yea man people dont understand the NBA at the PG position now is pick and roll and scoring threat. Didnt use to be like that.

He rarely uses the pick and roll, I really dont think he was taught that. When I seen him on the AAU circuit, their offense was never structured... I love the way he pitches the ball ahead though.

I just need for him to continue to play sorry so his fanduel value can drop lol. Cats going to sleep on him and he'll drop a triple double and win me some money lol..I think they still have his ass at 6700

Yep... the BGOL experts will tell you that he's helping him though. I've heard 'Its only going to help him because people are coming at him and it will make him better', 'Lavar put him on the map and was responsible for him being drafted #2' (Lonzo was on the map as a HS Junior and was National Player of the year' as a senior, etc. You can literally see his spirit and resolve being broken, and the Kid didn't deserve this shit....

When self promotion and pimping your children goes wrong...

Hopefully the Kid will get better, but so far, he is historically bad :smh:
Lavar's the greatest used car salesman ever!!! Ball will be decent, but Lakers had no business drafting him #2.

A broken jump shot doesn't make a player a bust. Stephen A is a fuckin moron. Point guard is the toughest position in the league the master. He's an outstanding rebounder, passer, and not a terrible defensive player already. This is just a case of the media hyping a player up just to tear him down. He didn't say he was the next Jason Kidd or Penny. The media did. He'll be fine. He has to fix that jumper, but he'll be fine.
That jump shot isn't broken, it's horrific. Laker girls duck when dis nigga shoots. He's not a smart player right now. He shouldn't be shooting his way out of it. Just get to the basket but his shot is so fucked up it affects the rest of his game. Mentally he's kinda broken. He should be coming off the bench. These's time to fix it obviously, but the pressure of being the next great Lakers PG is weighing him down big time.

Bruh if you believe Lakers Brass are happy with his performance you are fooling yourself. If you believe a PG not having a jumper in todays NBA doesn't make a player a bust you are fooling yourself... Its 20 games in, he's against grown men and professionals who the second, third time around will adjust and start taking other elements of his game away. If you don't believe a parameter player who can't shoot doesn't cripple a team offensively you are fooling yourself. Rebounding or not, his inability to shoot is hurting the offensive dynamic of this team, just like once Rondo had to move away from his HOF teammates, he was just hollow stats and no success, and Lonzo doesn't have the luxury of having HOF teammates...

If he doesn't fix his Jumpshot he is a bust point blank...
When this nigga shoots I'm literally saying to myself what the fuck is he looking at? I've never said that about another NBA player ever. :smh:

A 'slightly' better Kendall Marshall man... And his loud mouth ass father talking about he's better than Steph Curry and some others already... Dude hurt him in so many ways man...

I am really pulling for him, but it doesn't look good. You would expect to see SOME improvement or signs of it at this point... Dude was 1-7 last game, missing lay ups and shit! His head is all fucked up. Look at his face when he misses or has to talk about it in interviews.. :smh:
Yup. Niggas won't admit it though for some strange reason. :smh: Yet you haven't herd Ben Simmons father say a fuckin word. Just sayin. :dunno:

The problem is a few things. Lakers don't have any spot up shooters, and Lonzo can't create off the dribble. Luke Walton is also fucking up. Last night Clarkson had it going, let him finish the game. His rotations are shitty, and we have lost at least 3 games due to this. If Lonzo isn't getting boards and dimes, let his ass shit. There are no lottery pics to get this year. Go full out for the 8th seed.

Dumbass
I agree Luke's rotations are fucked up. He may not be the right coach for this team.

I with you on this.

However, he is under a microscope like no other rookie in the league. That was not Lonzo's doing.

He should be allowed to develop at his pace and not the pace of other people's expectations.

He's definitely not what he was marketed to be coming into to the league.
And that's where I really feel for him cause he seems like a really good dude.

Bruh, those UCLA highlights mean absolutely nothing. Shorter line, playing against smaller younger players. He's playing against grown men now, and he's getting worse. Understand, he's also pathetic shooting free throws. The issue isn't his 3 point shooting, its his shooting in general...
Looks like Ben Simmons missing the NCAA tournament at LSU didn't mean shit either.

Sorry bruh, had ta do it.

Why don’t you make a thread about that bust in Philly. Faggot you been trying to diss Lonzo since summer league. What the fuck has Fultz done?

Historically, has there ever been a high pick who was this bad in a critical area and turned it around to reach their pre draft potential.....

Listen man, I'M JUST ASKING A QUESTION!! Don't want to argue with you, the question is genuine!

(Got a brother posting with trepidation like a son of a bitch! Your reputation precedes you my brother!!) :roflmao:
Russell Westbrook also shot one of the lowest shooting percentages his first year in the NBA

Russell Westbrook also shot one of the lowest shooting percentages his first year in the NBA

ONCE AGAIN, the guys that people are comparing Lonzo to, who overcame shooting issues, had/have EXTREMELY high motors. Russ still ain't a marksman, but he attacks the rim like a man possessed.

His pops is the definition of "cool in doses". He's entertaining and I get a good laugh every now and then, but I wouldn't to be around this dude everyday. Lonzo doesn't have that option. I was hoping most of the dramatics was just for the cameras and dude has some chill when dealing with his kids privately, but I can see the pressure on Lonzo. Everything is riding on his shoulders, the team, the overpriced shoes, the future of his family. It' all on Zo's performance. I hope dude can turn this around. He seems like a good enough kid.

What’s amazing is basketball players, yes basketball players where the goal is to shoot and put the ball in the basket. Come into the NBA yearly and can’t shoot. But most of them have been playing basketball all their lives.

I don't want to keep repeating myself ...

...but, who told that dude or allowed him to shoot that way? That looks like some shit someone would do joking around. And all the basketball people he encountered throughout the years, AND NOBODY told him he needed to fix that weird ass shot?

It's actually unbelievable that that happened.

His form is horrible but my biggest issue is, he can fucking shoot! I understand the NBA is a different game but damn!

A person who "Can't shoot" doesn't take those shots. He just needs to find his rhythm.

Looking at the video, he's making them with a hand in his face as well as wide open. Most of those are NBA range or greater. I think dude is just shook right now. Let him roll this year with that jumper and see if he can pull it out. I'd also move his ass to the pin and let Clarkson start.

True, cause he's going to the rack baby shit soft. He needs to do what he did to Cauley Stein and yam that shit. He's too finesse around the rim and he's rushing shit.

Agreed and good eye

Finally a person who understands!

There’s two issues with moving him to the bench. First, how ego will be crushed and he’s already to bad now. No telling what would happened if they moved him to the bench.

I think it would be good for him to go to the G League for a week or two to get adjusted to playing the pro game against men.

Second issue, when the bench comes in they need a spark in attitude, aggression and scoring. He’s providing none of that so him coming off the bench :(

I don't how you got this from of what I said. It's not even worth going back and forth about. I stand by what I said. Lonzo will be fine as long as he makes the necessary changes to his shot. And by fine, I mean a good starting pg for years to come. I never bought into the hype, so my expectations haven't changed. Y'all thought the nigga was Jason Kidd. He's definitely not that.

Even Jason Kidd was not known to be a good outside shooter.

He needs a shooting coach to work on his mechanics...and a sports psychologist.

Magic taking time to work with him exclusively wouldn't be a bad idea, either.
