Star Wars The Last Jedi (SPOILER Discussion thread)

I'm so sick of prequels....sequels.....hopscotching back n forth in time....siiiiigh !!!!

The Last Jedi takes place directly after the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens
:dunno:

for a second i thought she was going to open the robe

yea, she looked like she was ready- if you invite her to your trailer, and she shows up like that...

interesting point though- since I don't think you add an S on the end of the word Jedi to pluralize it, "The Last Jedi" could actually refer to more than one.

I'm bing watching the Clone wars on Netflix, my one questions is why are the Federalists, particular the Jedis and Clones taking Ls so lovingly? Why are they so blind to who the true villain is?

:eek2:

Twitter realized this was a new Star Wars thing, and properly freaked out

Love how Ep.VII and Ep.VIII titles make a sentence: The Force awakens the last Jedi. #TheLastJedi #StarWars

And then there were jokes:

This could be a coincidence, but it is highly doubtful that this is a coincidence. Star Wars clearly saw this was happening, and knew this was happening, and let it happen. The Force awakens the last Jedi, and suddenly we are SO pumped to check back in with Rey, Finn, Poe, BB-8, and the rest of the gang.

Now, if this IS a real thing, and these Star Wars subtitles are spelling out a longer sentence, what could the title of Episode IX be?? There are 322 days until The Last Jedi is released, and Episode IX is still two years away. That gives us plenty of time to speculate widely as to how this trilogy is going to end.

I personally love the lil touches disney is throwing in on a series I loved as a child.

This is similar to what marvel is doing with the infinity stones spelling out THANOS!

Star Wars 8: JJ Abrams thinks The Last Jedi will win Mark Hamill an Oscar for Luke Skywalker
The popular character will have a lead role in Rian Johnson's upcoming instalment

JJ Abrams believes that Mark Hamill's performance in Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi is worthy of an Oscar.

Hamill will reprise his role of Luke Skywalker in the upcoming instalment of the popular scifi franchise, the second of a new trilogy taking place after the originals.

The Force Awakens director told The New York Daily News: “I think we are all going to be very upset if he does not win an Oscar, and no one more upset than Mark.”

STAR WARS 8: LUKE SKYWALKER'S FIRST LINE REVEALED
Abrams continued: “He is hysterically funny. He has done comedy. He is an amazing guy - he can do anything.”

Not much is known about Rian Johnson's sequel to Abrams' 2015 film blockbuster other than it'll pick up immediately where events left off - with Rey (Daisy Ridley) stood atop a mountain opposite a hooded Skywalker.

The Last Jedi: Three films that influenced Star Wars director Rian Johnson
The first trailer for the film is expected to be released during a panel at a Star Wars Celebration event which will take place in Orlando in April.

wow...no pressure there.

Josh trying to smash :rolleyes::lol:
Maybe it was just me, but Carrie Fisher did seem to imply that homegirl was very open to the crew.

When asked what advice she gave to her young Star Wars: The Force Awakens co-star Daisy Ridley, “I’ve told Daisy not to go through the crew like wildfire,” said Fisher, to laughs – and a few gasps – from the audience. (“Not that I went through the crew like wildfire,” she added, eventually.)

I was so let down in the last one when the black guy turned out to be a janitor instead of a Jedi

It is a joke that alludes to Kevin Smith but also he worked in Sanitation which means they go into areas and clean the place meaning he goes in and kills everyone.

Quit making things up. That was his first mission.

Duh!!! I don't see the quote of saying I was in Sanitation meaning that he was a janitor. Of course every "cadet" is going to do sanitation detail, but that doesn't mean anything. As I said, it was an inside joke. Also,we really don't know considering that the character that is in the book is expanded on than what we see in the film. Secondly, they cut shit out about that character because they actually wanted him to grow instead of coming in and wrecking shop. He is also 1st in his class and is supposed to be the star recruit. So, cats no slouch. Lastly, dude was on an a squad that dealt with urban pacification or basically exterminating folks. That is what he was trained to do,but it is obvious that the brainwashing didn't take effect. laslty, shit is up for interpretation. You see things the way you see it from your perspective so if your first inclination is to assume that a star 1st of his class stormtrooper who was able to overcome brainwashing on his first mission which most can not do and all you see is that when they say he was in Sanitation that he was a janitor then that says more about you than me.

wow...no pressure there.

Don't matter because Mark Hamill could pull it off. He can only play Skywalker because he was typecast into it.

The movie could be one of the best of the year and he couldn't get it because he doesn't have the chops to pull it off.

I love SW, but they could have gotten a better guy for Luke from the get go.
