STAR WARS ANDOR (2022) Disney+ (season 2 Discussion Thread) Jesus Christ this shit is Fantastic!!

too much politics in this second season. you can count on your finger tips how many times there are actions in this one. the dialogues are long winded and sometimes irrelevant to the story. I'm still struggling to get the main story of this season other than the brooding rebellion, the spying, an unstable Bix...all in all, first season was better

Also, what was the purpose of Andor stealing the TIE Avenger in the first episode outside of giving Disney a new TIE fighter variant to sell toys for? Did they ever mention it again? The show fast forward a year after Andor picks up Bix and Wil. I don't remember the rebels ever saying "hey that TIE Avenger you stole, well, it helped us develop......"

I'm sure the Empire had blueprints to create another ship.

I'm so conflicted on this season. Well, I guess I'm not.

This was exceptionally well done. Great dialogue, beautiful cinematography. I don't have any criticism.

Just the first 5 episodes weren't that interesting to me personally. It's next level work, episodes 8 and 9 were awesome. Great art. I can understand how people that appreciate the spycraft story at the start of the season would absolutely love it.

This show is what the next set of Star Wars films need to become. Can you imagine if they put this level of thought into Jedi & Sith storyline? The majority of Star Wars fans are 25-50+; no need to make kid appeasing trash.

Episode 7-9 were amazing!
Agreed. This show is definitely the first time I can recall an attempted sexual assault in the SW universe. The show also isn't afraid to imply that folks is fucking too. I'm still cracking up when Syril came back to see Dedra and when he asked how long he had, she was like "you have one hour; turn off the gotdamn lights!" ROTFLMBAO

Last 3 episodes fire!! Shit is very well done! And I wish they put this much thought into Jedi and Sith story lines; they do it for the animations but for live action it sucks. Andor is easily the best Star Wars show…

its funny cause i'm not a star wars fan

but i watched andor season 1 and 2 and you could feel the gravity of the situation
you knew shit was real. these dudes were fighting

then i jst watched rogue 1 for the first time
and its not the same

i know u have more time to build atmosphere and emotions in the series, but the movie is just so light

Season 2
12 Episodes

8.5/10

I watched the complete 2nd season this past Tuesday when I was home. My oldest son watched it with me.

The season was split into 3 parts starting 4 years before the Battle of Yavin. It jumped 1 year every 3 episodes.

The first episode kicked off in high gear with Cassian doing a “Firefox” acquiring a new Tie Fighter. This Tie Fighter brought up the first question for the franchise cuz it was never seen after and no information was given on what Cassian did with it.

A Force Sensitive character was introduced. Cassian just saw her as a batshit crazy lady. It showed he was unaware of the Jedi/Force.

There was basically 3 high suspense scenes after the opening episode that had me glued to the screen. Majority of the season was full of “Blah Blah Blah” talk. The talking was informative and didn’t bring the season down, but it proved to me that know way I could sit weekly waiting for a new episode. My TV ADHD would have sent me to the psychiatric hospital. HaHa!!!

The season gave more insight on Cassian and his views on what was going on with the Empire. The season explained a lot on statements he made in “Rogue One”.

I was surprised my Luthern. I had suspected he was a former Jedi/Sith or Force Sensitive. But that didn’t happen. His backstory was presented along with how he hooked up with Kleya. His backstory was done well showing the effects of War along with how harsh the Empire was to people. They did this without showing anything and was highly effective.

Another question came up about whether Palpatine actually knew what was going around thruout the Empire. This question brings up a possible origin of The First Order in Episode 7 film.

Ben Mendolsin did a fantastic job with Director Kerric. Saw Gerrera returned. Still no depiction on how he lost limbs and was using the mask as we saw in “Rogue One”.

A number of surprise deaths happened thru the season. The ending montage was done well showing the status of the surviving characters and possibility of some returning in future projects.

Seeing Benjamin Bratt as Bail Organa was a surprise. It looks like Jimmy Smits was held up with other projects when I looked into it. The origin of K-2SO and how Cassian acquired him was shown

No information was given about the 2nd Death Star on when exactly it started construction. It is possible it had already started during the two seasons and the characters with the information they had did not realize there were two being built. Hopefully we find out in future projects.

After finishing it, me and my son went directly into rewatching “Rogue One”. Besides the opening scene with Director Kerric and Galen, when Cassian debuted after, it went perfectly with Andor.

Overall, it was a fantastic season and the series itself was top notch. I would say this is one of the best Star Wars that Disney has put out since acquiring the property along with “The Mandalorian”.

I do plan rewatching this series in full in the future when new Star Wars material comes out that is directly connected with this series.

Good shit!

In my books Andor is close to perfect as far as story telling goes.

I been watching Star Wars my whole life and never would have thought that the architect of the rebellion would be somebody like Luthen Rael. The "all good" rebellion has a grimy foundation of theft, betrayal, cunning, manipulation and sacrifice on a level that the italian mob couldnt pull off. Even the rebellion itself was trying to distance itself from Luthen and Kleya.... but Andor wouldnt let them.

It also showed how close the ENTIRE thing was to falling apart multiple times - from the facilities raid in season 1 all the way down to Rogue One and the guy who handed off the disk when Vader was 2 feet from him (I woulda been shitting my pants in fear).

Too many awesome moments to mention although it was not action heavy. Actually its those non action parts for me - real life shit. The characters are like us but with just a lil bit extra where it counts
  • Cassian is the true definition of a hero.
  • Luthen is god body.
  • Kleya is a purist (also side piece?)
  • Brasso is that nigga.
  • Bix is the definition of strength and beauty
  • Vel is a soldier.
  • Kino Loy is that dude you want on your side when shit go down
  • Mon Mothma used to disgust me but she is probably what a real poltician should be
  • Dedra Meero is almost as repugnant as she is ambitious (a zod dungoen would have been a better sentence)
  • Syril Karn never grew up (his mom shoulda been hit by a bus)
  • Nemik is a true visionary - tiny man, enormous impact
  • Saw Gerrara is like your cousin who stay doing dumb shit but you gotta allow it cuz somehow it works out in the end
They need to let Gilroy do more Star Wars stories.

I’m starting to suspect Luthen was a former Jedi who dabbled in the Darkside.

He probably lost connection to the Force going into hiding after Order 66. Similar to what we saw with Obi Won in his series. In the first season that staff was hidden lightsaber. In season 2 he gave its Kyler crystal to Cassian.

And I suspect Kleya is possibly Cassian’s sister or related to him in some way.

I suspect more will be revealed on them in future projects.

I dont see Luthen being connected to the Force or Order 66. Remember he was a foot soldier in the flashback. I dont see somebody going from weilding the force to that life. Although he kinda uses Sith like tactics to manipulate people to his cause. I forgot to mention Lonnie in my character breakfown but they all owe that intel to him. He was FULLY manipulated by Luthen to go further and do more.

Kleya might or might not be related to Andor - lost child in the middle of a conflict with no known origin... I dont know the galaxy like that to figure out the location of her world and where Luthen was fighting. Doesnt matter tho, Im still up her bedroom on the weekends

Nah, he was an imperial who grew disgusted with the empire and deserted it to help fund the rebellion.

Kleya can be Andor's sister, but I don't think much will come out moving forward regarding these characters, their stories have been told and they aren't interesting enough to explore more, unless its in some book series Disney releases

Disney is a cheap piece of shit company, hoarding money. Yet they be crying over somebody taking their shit.

They will try to dirty you up to cover up their crimes.

Damn sun tellem how you feel

Seriously tho, they are some cheap bastards. Why you cut scenes from a show that's done done? What they saving them for, next season? The DVD extras? C'mon B.

All the Jedi went into hiding after Order 66. It’s possible he got drafted into the ARMY. The last place anyone would look for a renegade Jedi is in the Imperial Army.

Kleya will be a mystery until more is revealed in the future. It was clear in the 2nd season she was more than a aide to Luthern than how she was presented in Season one.

Sounds a lot like the first season i guess ill just watch a recap then. Ive noticed there arent many non buman aliens on this show also.

Andor Showrunner Reveals Where The Show's Surviving Heroes Fit Into The Star Wars Original Trilogy

By Kevin Erdmann
May 14, 2025

Tony Gilroy has revealed where and how Andor season 2's surviving heroes fit into the original Star Wars trilogy. While characters like K-2SO and Cassian Andor himself give their lives in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to get the Death Star plans into Alliance hands, some of Andor's other characters are primed to live on into the Galactic Civil War. To that end, it's been confirmed how some of the show's biggest characters fit into the galaxy's known future...

Ben Mendelsohn Only Agreed To Be in 'Andor' Season 2 on One Condition

While he was happy to return to the role he originally played in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, he did have one request for series creator Tony Gilroy. He discussed the change he wanted last week on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

The empire had info on every Jedi so that’s one of the reasons they went into hiding. If Lutheran was a Jedi then the empire would have had files on him also. Might have had force like abilities but he wasn’t a Jedi
