In all fairness though it really depends on the commission terms. My sister-in-law made $15/hr working customer service for Shaw Cable, but was able to earn another $5-$10/hr selling cable packages. In most cases those sales came from customers who called specifically to buy service. All she had to do was take their information and connect them. If Da Don is running his business in a similar fashion then I really don't see the need to throw salt on him no matter how many houses he owns

That being said a straight up $14/hr paycheck is still wack.

You all are thinking in terms of your livings expenses as applicable to your area.

DA DON's shop, as I understand it, are in semi-rural NC (somewhere west of Raleigh) and I can tell you, people can be okay on 14 an hour with commission.

Not flashy, but they could have a car and live okay.

Hell, 800 a month mortgage will get you between 1800-2000 square feet out there. The average person's rent in that area in aroung 500-600.

It's all relative. I would like to know how they were convinced to take those wages and not quit, though. Especially since they were making more.

That's the real business tip right there.

Sorry to disappoint you but I'm talking about the South Hill Neighborhood in Vancouver. I've never lived in Toronto. Only ever been there once when I was a kid. From what you've indicated though it seems like my city is more expensive than yours. Not only do we have the high rents we also have to deal with ICBC, $5 Bus tickets, 15% sales tax (including GST) and insane fuel taxes that are set to rise again in the summer. (it's was $1.35 a liter last time I filled up)

I'm moving to Cali soon and believe me, I'll be more than happy to take George Bush over this bullshit. Especially since Obama will be replacing him early next year.
