HTC phone with 3 cameras

Taiwanese mobile phone manufacturer HTC is aiming to be the first to market with an Android smartphone featuring a full 3D screen.

Great news indeed for anybody that has ever wanted to watch Avatar on the train home.

HTC has been making something of a splash in the Android market of late with phones such as the Desire, with the latest developments in 3D screens looking to be the next major tech objective for the mobile manufacturer.

HTC was actually demonstrating 3D mobiles at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona back in February of this year, although those tech demos were mainly being used to show off the latest capabilities of its smartphone chips, not to showcase finalised handsets.

Yet now, as we rapidly approach MWC 2011 next February, HTC is making noises about its desire to move into (and lead) the 3D mobile phone market.

HTC insiders claim that we might see a 3D Android superphone before the end of 2011.

The company is also looking closely at the latest developments in e-ink and AMOLED display tech, all of which will reportedly be a key focus for HTC's new R&D center in North Carolina's Research Triangle Park.

HTC has recently been advertising for a 'display and camera design engineer', that has "familiary with 3D display and imaging technologies" and with "multiple display technologies (TFT-LCD, PMOLED, AMOLED, E-ink, etc)."

Other companies already looking to develop 3D Android devices include Sharp, Motorola and Acer.

Sprint promises 'industry first' at February 7th event
By Chris Ziegler posted Jan 12th 2011 1:12PM
Let's just end the speculation right here: a Sprint-locked CDMA iPhone on the heels of Verizon's wouldn't be much of an "industry first," so we're thinking that whatever the company has to unveil on the evening of February 7th in New York will be of a very different flavor. The event invite goes on to say that they'll show "that the impossible is possible," which could very well mean the Epic 4G is getting Froyo. Burn! Also look for guest David Blaine to hold his breath in a tank of things that bite for 45 minutes or so, which will make for an awesome liveblog (yes, we'll be there).

whats this another bullshit 3d device that u have to hold at a angle and comes with a warning to take a break every 30 mintues of usage?

man my Evo battery life is terrible :smh:

That shit is horrible. There is no kind of battery tweak, kernel or task manager that will help improve battery life enough. I've seen people say they get 22+ hours on one charge with light to moderate use. I didn't get the phone to use it lightly or moderately.

Now I just carry an extra battery on me.

i dont know if i want a 3d phone

thats kind of stupid with a 4 inch screen

hell 3d tvs arent really selling with 52 inch screens

sprint change the game last year though when they announced the EVO

i cant wait to see whats coming in Feb.

I rooted my phone and I have went 30+ hrs and still have 60% battery life. This is with with WiFi /gps(on by mistake).

Quick question for the Sprint owners ???

Right now I have Verizon, but my contract ends in mid February
I'm seriously thinking about switching over to Sprint
Verizon is just too damn expensive & their service/coverage has dropped off in the last few years
With these new Iphone users coming, I know its gonna blog down the network even more

So anyway, when does Sprint usually come out w/ their new phones ???
I think the last good ones were the EVO & Galaxy S ???
How is everyone's service/coverage in city & rural areas ???

1.2GHz Tegra 2 3D chips suggested by leaked slide, coming 'spring 2011'

Darn, we've barely started getting acquainted with Tegra 2, yet NVIDIA seems to already be preparing the stage for a sort of Tegra 2.5 -- a 1.2GHz dual-core chip that'll be marketed as a 3D-capable mobile processor. This T25 silicon is apparently set for mass production in the first quarter of this year, with availability coming up in the spring. Given the noises we keep hearing about 3D going mobile, this is one rumor that makes a lot of sense -- and even if you're a staunch supporter of the 2D creed, you can't deny that a sped-up Tegra 2 CPU sounds pretty delicious. We've managed to also track down some technical chatter about adding support to Chromium OS for a 1.2GHz T25 from NVIDIA, seemingly corroborating the leaked image above. Oh boy, it's gonna be a hot summer for mobile computing this year!

Real talk THE most important feature of a smartphone is a battery life. All of the fancy shit that these phones can do is moot if you're constantly worried about battery drainage. I've been using smartphones for a while now, so I know what I'm talking about. As a matter of fact, the next smartphone that I pick (currently have a Motorola Droid) will be based on whichever one has the best battery life (whether it's iPhone or Android).

Damn people barely have 3d tv's and now we're rolling out 3d phones....gotta love America. O_o
