Sources. Amare to Cavs almost a done deal..

Give me offense over defense tho

Dwight was gettin ripped every time he touched the ball in the finals.

You tall as shit but gotta bounce the ball?????????

Amare slamming

and VC ballin

Lewis poppin 3's

Nelson not hurt

they decent bruh

It really doesn't. The Cavs still don't have legit outside shooters. And still aren't a competition for the Lakers even with the deal done. Who's to say Amare will even be healthy for the playoffs.

You don't need a outside shooter when you got Lebron on your team. I mean them niggas are #1 in the league right lol. In the playoffs jumpshots don't matter. The last team standing is the one who can get in the paint and score.

They have some of the best 3pt shooters in the league

2 Daniel Gibson, PG CLE 47 7.0 1.4 3 66 138 .478 49 110 .445 1.32 .597

4 Anthony Morrow, SG GSW 39 12.3 1.9 4 75 166 .452 100 191 .524 1.34 .595

..and Nash will be a free agent next year, so if Shaq and Amare can convince him to go there :itsawrap:

They will be the Suns all over again  . Reason why that shit didn't work in Phoenix was because Amare and Shaq play terrible together. And them niggas had Nash delivering the basketball.

Danny Ferry needs to be fired. He's had years to build an actual team and he has done nothing. Now that Lebron has one foot out the door he's hitting the panic button and trying to bring in a big name despite the fact that the move serves no purpose and doesnt improve the team. The deal to be made is Jamison or Murphy. Both provide size, shooting, sound defense, inside scoring if needed, rebounding basketball intelligence and good attitude.
Amare won't allow Dwight to pick up fouls because Amare is too soft. He doesn't go hard in the paint. He's gonna bail Dwight out by shooting mid range jumpshots. And I don't know about Hedo. I thought he was a solid piece but by no means did letting him go stop making the Magic a contender. Still got talent on the team and one of the most dominant big men in the league on offense and defense. Meanwhile, the Suns may get a dominant scorer if Amare is motivated but we do know one thing. Them niggas are going to be garbage defensively because Amare is terrible. I've never seen someone that big with that much athleticism be so damn sorry defensively.
And hes a mediocre rebounder as well. This Amare deal is silly as fuck and im surprised more people dont see that. As for Hedo, its not that he was a great player, he was just a matchup nightmare for many teams and he was a perfect fit in Orlando, i think thats what dude meant.

Cleveland will toughen him up. Phoenix had a soft culture and still does. Up here he will be expected to play defense, that is what they do. He has all the skills to play defense he just needs to make up his mind to do it.

Look at Mo, people said the same shit about him but he came here and bought into the toughness of the cavs and Lebron. If Amera can do that things should be fine.

Plus he is playing for a contract, you know how NBA cats show their ass for that contract money.

This is bullshit. Why are teams trying to help the Cavs out? The fuck is going on with the NBA?

Stern needs Lebron to get a ring and get it fast. They need new wings to carry this league. The NBA is like wrestling now. Just look at the trades that have been made over the past 3 years.

This deal does not address the Cavs needs. Amare is overrated.

I tend to agree with you in terms of addressing their needs. However, if you can trade and almost do a player for player swap with the Suns to get Amare and ultimates only lose Hickson, you gotta take that trade. That is a big come up at that position.

I tend to agree that Amare is a bit overrated because he doesnt play D, but dude can score and dominate in the post at times.... will make things easier for Lebron.

. As for Hedo, its not that he was a great player, he was just a matchup nightmare for many teams and he was a perfect fit in Orlando, i think thats what dude meant.

I think Orlando took themselves out of contention with that... Wince Harder doesnt need cause the matchup problems against the top teams that Hedo does...plus.. Wince is known to disappear in big games..

 Stern needs to get off that bullshit. The damn league is exploiting their system. Ilgauskaus for Amare? Come on now. Atleast have them throw in a 1st rounder or some shit. Something.

Cleveland will toughen him up? Man this nigga is just sorry on defense. He's terrible. He's slow footed on defense for what ever reason. He's so bad he's gonna be a liability on defense. And Amare been playing for a contract all year and has still been sorry on defense. Its just not his game. His game is gonna be catching oops from Amare. Thinking about it now i'm not sure if I wouldn't wait to see what Hickson's development looks like. I like Amare don't get me wrong but I don't think this does much for the Cavs in regards to their title hopes this year. Maybe it helps Lebron stay another year though.

The more I look at it the more it does look silly. Amare and Shaq didn't work in Phoenix with STEVE NASH on the team. Steve Nash who made Boris Diaw look like a all star. I'm not sure if this was the best move. But with Amare people see the dunks. And Amare is a good player don't get me wrong but I think he's more suited for a team like the Clippers or the Kings. A team without a guy like Lebron on it.

And as far as Hedo goes I agree that he was a matchup nightmare but there's no reason VC can't be that same nightmare at the 2 guard spot. Magic still gonna be there at the end. Whether its the Finals or not I don't know. But the Magic are still right there with the Cavs as far as i'm concerned.

They will be the Suns all over again  . Reason why that shit didn't work in Phoenix was because Amare and Shaq play terrible together. And them niggas had Nash delivering the basketball.

Not true. If Shaq/Amare doesn't work, you could still have a front court of:

Shaq/Big Z/Side Show Bob
Shaq/LeBron/Side Show Bob
Big Z/Lebron/Side Show Bob
Big Z/Amare/Side Show Bob

Not to mention Nash is another good shooter and someone who SHOULD be bringing the ball up in close games and not that Lebron James "1-4 iso gimme the ball and everybody get the fuck out of the way" play that killed them in Orlando last year and Boston the year before.

yea, but they still have to play the games. david stern can't make them win.

Of course not, but he can stack the deck and let the chips land where they may. Think about it, Celtics make power trades... ring. Lakers make power trades... ring. Looks like it's LBJ's turn.

I think Orlando took themselves out of contention with that... Wince Harder doesnt need cause the matchup problems against the top teams that Hedo does...plus.. Wince is known to disappear in big games..

Took them out of contention by not giving Hedo that money? Seriously? And btw, it wasn't like they traded him. He left for crazy money. They had to re-sign Gortat. Ya'll acting like Orlando still don't got Rashard, Dwight, Jameer and Vince. They still got a squad.

The problem there is coaching. No cohesion. The talent is there.

I like the move IF they can get Z back, he's been in Cleveland his entire career and deserves to win one there if they get one this year. I've read where they say Cleveland don't have outside shooting, (Mo, Gibson, Parker) is for that. The reason why they lost to O-Lando last year was because they (O-Lando) were bigger than Cleveland. You had Delonte "trying" to play Hedo, but even more important, you don't have to double Howard, plus now Lebron has a Big Brother that NO ONE is going to mess with. Shaq knows it's not his team, he just has to be intimidating, come playoff time look for him to be more aggressive, back down Howard/KG/ or other Bigs. Now we have length on the Wings, (Parker and Moon), you can bring Andy off the bench with hustle, defense, and scrappy points. I didn't even bring up Breezy. On paper it can work, to me they don't match up well against Atlanta because of their speed and outside shooting (if the game became a track meet).

.

Man. I dont understand this shit. It just has to be effort. But dude goes from super athlete on the offensive end to seriously flat-footed on defense...that shit is crazy...

They still has a squad but for the most part, they are playing to beat 3 teams..Boston, LA, and Cleveland. Wince doesnt cause any matchup problems for any of those teams. But none of those teams really have an answer for Hedo

I don't get it myself. And I didn't find out he was sorry on defense until about a year or two ago. You see someone that athletic and snag down 9-10 boards a game and get a couple of blocks you assume he's solid on defense. Then when you actually watch him? Its not that he's lost he just can't do it. I don't know if its effort or just lack of defensive skill.

I don't know. I was one of the ones that didn't like Hedo and Lewis on the field together. Their game was too similar. So I thought they could afford to let Hedo walk. Hedo has a good run last post season but I thought the chances were slim he'd repeat that.

Shit is mad uncanny.... on offense he will shake someone out of the shoes, spin, and bang out nasty... then on defense he has no lateral movement whatsover... he turns into the slow ass whiteboy who has sand in his shoes...:smh:

Football season ended last week :hmm:

Slow footed? Have you seen Z? It doesn't get any more slower than that. His pick and roll defense looks like he is moving in another time dimension. Amare may not be mutumbo but he is >>>> than Z on the defensive end. Z is 7'19" and gets his lay ups blocked.

People aren't looking at this deal for what it is. Hickson for Amare. Hickson is looking like gold because he plays with James. Meanwhile Amare has spent years in Phoenix where the perimeter players let EVERYBODY just go into the key. Nobody there guards shit, just let them into the key and let Amare deal with it. It is amazing Amare bothers at all on the defensive end in Phoenix.

Z is perhaps the slowest human being playing professional basketball in the known universe. Cavs fans have seen this for years now. We will take Amare and his sorry defense after living with Z for these last few years.

Plus Z gets to come back and get his ring, alls well that ends well.
