No, the guy at the bar is credited as "Man in Members Only Jacket" and the guy who played him isn't even a professional actor. He owns a pizza joint and has never appeared on the show before.

OK, just finished watching it
At first I was pissed by the ending, I too thought it got cut off by mistake or something
But now looking back on it, it's pure GENIUS
What better way to end it than by leaving everyone guessing
It's pretty obvious that Pauly is an informant and was gonna snitch (the cat going after the rat symbolism)
Everything can't be tied together in one neat little ribbon
You'll always wonder what really happened
Much better than everyone lying in a pool of blood

With the way it ended ( still 3 main guys in it - Tony, Paulie, and Sil), Chase is leaving it open for a movie or another season. My guess is a movie.

The way how Phil's underboss( Butch or Rusty i think ), just abandoned him and gave up on killing Tony, was too convenient. Them guys were gung-ho on offing Tony since last year season 6 ending.

Chase and HBO are not going to relinquish a cash cow like the Sopranos.

I watched it a second time and at the end the camera view makes it look like AJ was looking at him and then everything went black...maybe they hit the whole family ...but fuck all that Subliminal draw your own conclusion shit...I was just looking at the HBO board forum too and everybodys calling it a brilliant move by David Chase....BULLSHT... :smh: ...

But if his goal was for Sopranos to be talked about years afters its gone then he accomplished it because everyones going to be talking about how the sopranos was a good show and how they wish the ending had been better.

It's clear creator David Chase is leaving the story line open for something like a Movie Or even a come back.
"You never kill what feeds you" is maybe his thinking.

Even still

Excellent finish to the show.

They had me cussing out the TiVo for a second until i got smart to the ending.
.
The whole show had me at the edge of the fucking couch.

Living-room dark as fuck, just got home from work.

I couldn't fucking wait to see. How the show would end.

When Phil got popped at the gas station and the SUV ran over his head, and the kid with the afro started vomiting. I was laughing and clapping.

Meadow and her parking skills had me thinking.
"Damn just 3times to go in the fucking show and this bitch about to die parking a car".LOL

That cat is for sure Christopher's ghost
I don't believe in that shit but cat starts acting like that he aint from planet earth.

I have no clue besides The Wire what is on TV that imma look forward to watching.

By the way I read The Wire will come to and end Next Year.

It's been a nice run.for both shows.

Now here is my
Imaginative plots cause i didn't really want the show to end
[ see what happen when you have 2much time on your hands]

So lets say 2 years from now.
HBO does a where are they now update
Sopranos Mini-Series
Just four one hour long episodes
I would like to see shit like this in it.

Paulie the chicken, scared of dieing, is in the FBI's Witness Protection system. What ever he told them sends Tony and others to jail.

On a nice sunny Sunday. Paulie "now supposable working as a life guard, at an upscale retirement village in Palm Springs California," will suffer a major stroke. drowning after falling into a running spa.

Meadow "the Lawyer" after failing to free her dad is now
boss of both NJ and NY.

Why not she's got the fucking smarts for it.
Deep down inside Meadow's heart is a Tony and evil Carmela waiting to come out.

She will rule the house lat into her 60's until her twin son. both raised and born in Italy comes to America and takes over.

In their 30's these two none english speaking men, will have the streets of America a washed in blood, as they try to bring all the organize crime families in America under their control.

Sil; after Meadow gets him and others off on a technicality, will becomes Meadow's ruthless enforcer.

A J will end up becoming a bible pusher.
Married to a mysterious south American woman that can not conceive children and is secretly a lesbian. Unaware A J will never question her love for him.
What A J believe is FBI surveillance, but in fact is a private eye service hired by his sister to protect him from afar. Will cause a mentally unbalanced A J to fear for him and his wife's life, cause them to run off to Cuba.

Carmela with cheat on Tony with Paulie [ just kidding]! She and her father will never build or sell another home. Carmela will move to France and write a book about her love for her children and Tony. She will never return to America

As For Tony!

After spending just 7 years in prison. Tony will be freed cause of the Info he gave the FBI on the Arab dudes  .
He will claim to everyone it's cause of health problems.
Sick of Mob life and supported by Meadow, he retires to Las Vegas.
Still feeling young and useful, Tony will become a certified Gamblers Anonymous Councilor. He will write a book on the mob using a ghost writer.
With Meadow at his bedside a 90 year old Tony will die filled with regret over losing Carmela.

The END

Tony Is Dead:

A) First episode of this season Bobby says you don't hear it when you're shot.

B) Second to last episode of this season, Tony flashes to Bobby saying you don't hear it when you're shot.

C) The entire story arc was about Tony - when Tony's gone, the arc is done.

D) In the diner, every time someone walked through the door, the perspective changed to Tony's as he looked up

E) After the last bell jingle, just as the perspective changed to Tony's everything went black and silent - as though the person whose perspective we were to shift to was no longer alive

F) The cat was a reminder that Tony killed Chris, and had Adriana killed. The cat was a reminder that Tony's a bad guy - who has it coming.

G) There was so much symmetry between Phil's execution in front of his family and Tony's last moments

H) We all know how much Godfather III ruined the Godfather movies. I think the focus on Meadow was a reference to the Godfather. David Chase didn't end it the way Godfather III ended. This time the boss gets killed.

I) Every other episode ended in music during the credits. This one had no music because Tony's dead.

J) Episode titles have always meant something. This episode's title referred to Bobby's gift of the gun to Tony. When he gave it to him he made the comment about how everything would just go silent when you were shot.

K) The ending was so incredibly brilliant. We all felt what it was like to be Tony in those final five minutes. We all felt nervous, anxious, just as he must have felt. After being absorbed into Tony's experience, we were left with silence and blackness like death because...

OK, at first I was really angry. I mean really, really angry. I can't believe though that no-one has posted by now what happened. The only thing I saw that was right, was that in the last scene we are seeing through Tony's eyes. Remember when he was speaking with Bobby...basically saying that you don't see it happening?

So here is what I found out. The guy at the bar is also credited as Nikki Leotardo. The same actor played him in the first part of season 6 during a brief sit down concerning the future of Vito. That wasn't that long ago. Apparently, he is the nephew of Phil. Phil's brother Nikki Senior was killed in 1976 in a car accident. Absolutely Genius!!!! David Chase is truly rewarding the true fans who pay attention to detail.

So the point would have been that life continues and we may never know the end of the Sopranos. But if you pay attention to the history, you will find that all the answers lie in the characters in the restaurant. The trucker was the brother of the guy who was robbed by Christopher in Season 2. Remember the DVD players? The trucker had to identify the body. The boy scouts were in the train store and the brothas at the end were the ones who tried to kill Tony and only clipped him in the ear (was that season 2 or 3?).

Absolutely incredible!!!! There were three people in the restaurant who had reason to kill Tony and then it just ends. This was Chase's way of proving that he will not escape his past. It will not go on forever despite that he would like it to "don't stop". Not the fans!!! Tony would like it to keep going but just as we have to say goodbye, so does he. No more Tony and I guess we are supposed to be happy that Meadow didn't get clipped as well (she would have been between the shooter and Tony) since she is the only one worth a crap in that family.

Thank you David Chase for making it so obscure that I feel bad for hating you at first. Absolutely amazing!!!!"
The two Black dudes were killed , one of em got shot the other fell off the side of the car ,forgot what he hit real hard. The train store I thought was a girl and a boy with their father ,I watched it yesterday so im pretty sure.
SOme people think Tony is dead , other feel tony is alive and well with his family finally in order.
People callin git a bullshit episode are the the same millions who were on the edge of their seat about to call cable/sattelite companies. lol Thats the way a show should end rofl.

ONE THING THATS FOR SURE, HE DIDNT SNITCH!.

But was it all those guys or just Phil? Phil had the vendetta with Tony ever since his brother was killed and he didn't get to kill Tony's cousin himself. Check out the scene in episode 85 when Phil orders the hit on Tony & Company...I wouldn't say the reaction of the guys were 'gung-ho.'

I could be wrong... but I think Tony got hit... The last dude wearing the Members Only jacket that went to the bathroom probably shot him in tha head.... and Tony never saw or heard it comming. Hence why the show ended the way it did...

Tony's GONE! The screen going black repersents the end of his life. He didn't see it coming just blackness that's it. Remember what Bobby said to him?

"I bet when it happens you don't even hear it."
I just seen the episode right now...and thats what I was thinkin when I first seen it. Like if you've ever seen Goodfellas. They say you never see it coming...
"If you're part of a crew, nobody ever tells you that they're going to kill you, doesn't happen that way. There weren't any arguments or curses like in the movies. See, your murders come with smiles, they come as your friends, the people who've cared for you all of your life. And they always seem to come at a time that you're at your weakest and most in need of their help"

Life ends abruptly. It's kinda like the ending to Rules of Attraction.

Either way I thougt it was a good way to end it. They either represented death by blackness and silence...or they just stopped it to let you fill the blank until the movie where they explain what happened.

I thought about that too. That dude looked grimy and Southern European like the kind of hitters who hit a boss. And the way Paulie kept frowning, like he had sold him out or something. And Meadow was a key figure when Tony nearly died so it would have had nice symmetry.

like it was posted earlier...life goes on...

or does it?

we saw briefly how tony lives his life in that last five minutes..always suspecting someone may kill him. The threat of jail time over his head with the grand jury thing. nd trying to have some semblance of a "normal" family life..

although did anyone catch certain nods...like the black guys who came in... Tony always uses the "2 black guys" excuse for some shit he did.

Thought about that too...Tony almost got touched that one time by the black dude. He always had a chip on his shoulder about black dudes. It would be apropos. ;)

You really think having our screen go blank and having half of America checking they cable boxes and tvs was brilliant??
1) They could have figured out a better way to do it. Let Carm face look like she about to say something and have everything slow down with the camera angle falling sideways and going out of focus. Something so that everyone on this board would know hands down Tony got it.
2) Who would have reason to pop Tony?? Tand please dont give us a drawn out speculation.
Bottom line, the war is over..
Until HBO.com posts what happened, im sticking with the fake build up making u think something was going to happen and then leaving u wit blue balls!!

Here's why:

The Sopranos mob world was bigger than just Tony and Phil. There was the rest of the families to consider. Now Brooklyn is way higher in the pecking order than North Jersey. I don't believe they could afford to take the hit to their reputation, no pun intended, with Tony winning a war with Phil. Even if Tony negotiated that truce, I think it was just a lure to get him relaxed. They didn't count on him finding Phil.

However part of me thinks that they wanted to keep Tony alive because he made a lot of money from North Jersey. I lean towards Tony getting clipped though, but it's disappointing because I think Meadow and Carmella would have mourned Tony's murder in a fine acting job.

i don't know if nobody seen who the cat was that went to the bathroom. If i'm not wrong i think that's dude that was in love with carmela from over in sicily. But for the most part yeah i'm just like ya'll that was some straight garbage

david chase shouldve wrote himself into the show and whacked himself, that self important son of a bitch. i bet when he showed the "ending" to all his artsy faggot friends they were all like "wow man, like, your ending doesnt even have an ending, THATS SO COOL!" imagine you spend five hours reading a book and the FUCKING LAST PAGE IS TORN OUT. oh, youre so smart & cutting edge david. youre "too cool" to just have a regular series finale where there is closure of some sort, NOOOOO....... you choose the fucking bluesclues route and have people piecing together jfk assassination conspiracy theories trying to make sense of that bullshyt you call a finale. "oh, the message was in the song". FUCK YOU. "tony's ending was forshadowed by bobby's words" FUCK YOU. "it showed the arbitrary nature of his life & how his two "families" often intertwined" FUCK........YOU.

I think the damn writer did the go blank thing to have us hear talking and debating bout the ending. He basically added the ending of the sopranos to the list of hood debates.
Who is the greatest rapper of all time?
Is Pac Dead?
What happened at the end of the sopranos?

Its gonna b debated for months and probably put in punchlines in rap songs.
I guess its one of them draw ya own endings, which i think is wack. If i went to the movies and paid my money i would b flippin. Cats go to whip out they captain crunch decoder ring to freaking figure out an ending. Ending more confusing then an ol NAS record before you thougth about it.

 Niggas sound mad because there wasn't enough gunplay, violence, and someone gettin' shot up in the final episode. I guess niggas was expecting a Tony Montana ending. I'm not excited or upset about the ending, it ending in a way that just makes you wonder. Shooting and violence is easy to watch, but I think David Chase made you think and wonder.

Quote from Rasin in the Sun: "Never be afraid to sit down and THINK."

And like I said before and I'll say again, a fitting end to Tony will only be on the big screen. Even if the Sopranos don't make a movie, David Chase left the door open for many other options.

u know looking at the ending, I think to myself after june put a hit out on him he should have been more concious of his security, considering there was another hit put on him this time by a rival family, and every other time they ate they ate at the bald headed dudes resturant, and really literally no where else why the fuck would they go eat out somewhere that was not safe and not that bald headed guys resturant. seems like a bullshit ploy to make u think he got merked, because what big time mob boss is not gonna be running with out at the very least a bodyguard or two.

Shit would never be that rosy or rosy enough in that life to do such a thing. I think this whole season was lazy as fuck like they really didnt want to write it... and perhaps thats why it was so slow....and hence why they didnt end it as they know we all would have wanted it.

and Im starting to think perhaps the dont stop believing song means that you should dont stop believing this is the end.....and if you look at the lyrics to the song might lead you to believe this also... because where else do the lights come on at the end and the sides look like street lights... a movie theatre

I still think theres something gonna go on with meadow because as I said in a previous thread... in end of season 1/or/beginning of season 2 when tony and the fam went to Italy the woman was the boss of the soprano family over there. and also as I said in a previous thread in an interview on ABC NEWS late night that they also showed in the morning.... Diane asked meadow do you ever think there would be a female as the head of the family... and they all smiled......

this could lead you to believe that because meadow was late to the dinner that everyone at the table (or maybe just tony) got merked and she witnessed it which made her want revenge, and thusly she said fuck being a lawyer , and turns into head of the family.

im probably reaching but hey why not throw my nut in the milkshake :)

prolly the worst ending to a series or movie i ever saw.......especially with all the hype surrounding it....in all honesty the show been preety boring for awhile now...but with it being the last season you thought it would pic up.......2 thumbs down

i haven't paid shit to watch them, and i was thoroughly entertained.

The only thing I liked about the ending was Meadow pushing that damn Lexus IS, it's good to see the car you drive on a high profile movie!!

lexus_is05.jpg

But still, if the ending was about Tony's death, how could he be so sloppy and allow himself to be put in that situation, looked like the whole resturant to include the kids would have or could have merked him.

Fuck it, we are better off figuring out who killed JFK than trying to understand this ending......

First of thats a girl car....you drive a girl car? (never mind if you are a girl)

Second, if it did not happen on camera then it did not happen and the show went off, it went bye-bye. So what you're doing now is pretending that something happened.

OK......
IMMA GIVE YALL THE REAL STORY BEHIND THE LAST TWO LACK LUSTER
YEARS OF THE SOPRANOS AND WHY IT ENDED SO UNEVENTFULY.

I HAVE AN ITALIAN FRIEND THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE ON PROBATION AND IN HIDING FROM FALLOUT IN NEW YORK WITH THE REAL MOB SHIT.
HIS UNCLE IS A STATE TROOPER IN N.Y. AND INFORMED HIM OF THE STORY

HE TOLD ME ABOUT THREE YEARS AGO
THAT THE SOPRANOS WAS GONNA END
OF COURSE AT FIRST I DIDNT BELIEVE HIM
HE SAID THAT THE STORY LINE WAS HITTING A LITTLE TOO CLOSE TO HOME FOR SOME OF THE REAL MOB CATS AND THEY PUT PRESSURE ON THE PRODUCERS TO
END THE SERIES WITHOUT STEPPING ON ANY MORE TOES.

SO AS I WATCHED THESE LAST TWO NON VIOLENT AND SEMI DRAMATIC
SEASONS, I SEE WHAT HE MEANT.
I WAS WATING FOR SOME BIG ENDING BUT IT DIDNT HAPPEN
WHICH WOULD LEAD ME TO BELIEVE WHAT MY FRIEND TOLD ME.
THE SHIT HAS BEEN DOOMED FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS.

IT MAKE SENSE NOW.:hmm:

I First Realized this show was NOT about really about the bodycount but the characters , when Melfi didnt say anything about Jesus Tha rapist . That left me going , shit this really is about something else. Good Job on the ending, CONSISTENT of how its always been. Im lying? Find the russian that escaped.

BE A LIL" SMARTER TV VIEWER!!

The music playing was 'Don't Stop Believing' by Journey. That title is a joke on all who need to be spoon fed an ending to a cable TV drama. Thee is no ending that would have made EVERYBODY happy so the only way out is to let everyone believe what they believe the appropriate ending shoulda been. Aftre Phil got knocked the F out (in the worse way possible - shot and rant the F over by his grandkids in the back seat of a Ford Explorer!) what more do you need?
A nice red ribbon and bow on a wrapped box ending??

I thought my satellite went out too! But all in all I think they did their jobs in about or 2 we'll see them on the big screen and everyone will rush into see it!

OWNED!

Thanks for debunking this bullshyt. Its hilarious the number of nonsensical and flat out bogus theories running around created by those who want to convince themselves that they were not pissed on by their beloved "Sopranos" braintrust.

Even funnier are those who are attempting to pass this garbage off as some act of "Genuis" or "Brilliance".

The last two seasons of the show have been an ongoing abortion and the series finale was utter crap. Chase has appeared disinterested and outright lazy as of late and has now slapped his loyal viewers in the face by ending this garbage in such a noncommittal, shiftless, and cowardly way.

This wasnt writting brilliance people. At best its a cheap way to hedge his bets while leaving open the option of further milking his cash cow when and if he needs or desires and at worse was a anticlimatic fulfilment of a contractual agreement.

Two thumbs down.

THIS WHOLE DAMN SEASON WAS BULLSHIT FUCK THE SOPRANOS ALL THE WAIT FOR THIS SHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTT!

BEST EPISODE of the Sopranos:

Season 5, episode 13, when Tony was forced to kill his cousin Tony Blundetto, then ended up running from Johnny Sac's house and walking like 20 miles home.

that shit was AMAZING.

Man let me tell u I think that the who season was bullshit what was HBO thinking? Out of the 8 episodes the only thing that really caught my attention was when Tony and Bobby was fighting at the the lake ! And poor little faggot ass AJ crying over some bitch who had a kid that wasn't even his and he is supposed to be the heir to the Soprano's throne. And then the shit they pulled last night Phil getting his wig split from the gunshot and the car was cool as shit, I looked over at my alarm clock and saw that the time was 9:57 and that was the only killing that happen so far had me wondering. Then to see all the family at that dump of a resteraunt i knew for sure something was going to happen and Meadow needs to go back to driving school couldn't park her car. It was bullshit and iam dissappointed for HBO's making this last season a waste. It makes wonder how The Wire is going to end. I'm from Baltimore so it better not be some bullshit!
