ancestry DNA results and some other family history (come to find out 46% from Nigeria and Benin) some of my earliest ancestors are from France on pop's side. My great great great great great grandparents white as Elon. They helped build Louisiana coming straight from France (others were from Jamaica and Panama) so with that being said

My aunt has DNA from Sri Lanka which was surprising...we always thought our looks were Native American.

Last virtual family reunion a cousin who was doing the family genealogy was like...let's put that tale to rest now...there's no record of Native interaction in the family going back to earliest known slave records from Tennessee .

I used 23 and me. Thinking about trying African Ancestry. 23 said I have zero Native, but how the fuck cause my gg grandmother was full blooded Cherokee. But it did say I'm 36% Nigerian 20% Ghanaian

That's the thing with allot of areas. It takes other family members to update the records or whatever they use(database?). Like I said, pops used a different one and I guess other family members did some tracing with family/hospital records
