Sooo.....I made the switch to the S3...

And so far I can't complain. I am having to get use to it because I haven't had an android in a while, but as of yet, I haven't begun to miss my iphone.

I was able to do the trade-in at Bestbuy and it was pretty much an even trade, I got $210 for my iphone 4, and I was due for an upgrade. So out of pocket I paid $23.

Only thing I'm getting pissed at right now is on tapatalk I can't find this board, but I can find the BGOL work board.

So once I find the apps, and get use to the phone and the features then I'm good.
This is the one I got, because they didn't have the red at Bestbuy.

Whats the Battery life like? On the Iphone 4 the battery life is sensational..
 
.i just switched from the iphone also and im not missing it all. I'm a Mac user (since 1998) so im really believing Apple will be in trouble soon and the iphone 5 aint saying anything really.

I got the phone at around 9 this morning, and I just charged it up since leaving the store, and I've been on it most of the day. So I think that's pretty good. I haven't read the book either though.

yeah the guys at bestbuy said they've seen a tremendous increase since the 5 came out of people switching to the S3.

Like I said so far I'm not missing the iphone at all right now.
 
My battery life sucks on my S3...anyone got any tips or whatever to try to increase the life on it?? I was on the phone the other day for 20mins and lost 10% battery
 
Please give us an update in about 3 weeks while you're still in the 30 day return period.

Why didn't you go to another best buy that had the red one?

I was told only AT&T stores are carrying the red ones.

And will do on the update.

Ok. I am trying to decide between both phones too. The only thing I like about the s3 is the size of the display. The Iphone wins in every other aspects for my purpose.

Turn down the screen brightness,get a battery saver app like juice defender.

This is what I'm afraid of!
I've seen Iphones out the box with tons of shit running in the background, Pandora play for an entire workday only end up being half-way down in battery life at the end of the day.. INCREDIBLE!!

This is without turning down screen brightness or installing a juice defender bullshit either.

On My Iphone 4s, I start getting calls from 9.00am until 6 and when I get in my car at 5.15 it's still at 30%.. This is with everything working. Bluetooth, all apps open, etc.

See I've had just the opposite. I run only pandora at work, and have to keep my phone charged or it will be down by the time I leave work.

i experienced the same as you(iph4 is 2 yrs).

keep us updated, my contract is up in a month &

im deciding between iph5 & siii.

No I don't own a Mac. I will say I got fed up with itunes, and I tried media monkey and others, but couldn't get it to work right still.
 
I recently traded my 4S for the S3 back in July. When I had the 4S I used it for work making calls and Internet usage from 7am till around 5pm sometimes the battery will be almost dead sometime it'll be around 15-20% or so by the time I get off but with my S3 I hardly use it because of the battery life. People at work be like damn u dead already and I'll only be at work for 5 hours or so. I like the S3 a lot but this battery thing is making me regret switching from the IPhone

Okay. I personally love Itunes, specifically for the Pod-Cast! Also, considering I'm always scheduling things on my Phones Calendar(HTC EVO) it would be nice to be able to do that through the computer and Vice-versa!

Right Now:

1) Tremendous Battery Life
2) Total integration w/ computer(MacBook Pro)
3) Never owning a non-base Android phone

Is making me lean more towards an Iphone.

See I went from an Android to the iphone about 3 years plus ago, and somewhat always missed the android.

See right now that's the only thing I'm hearing wrong, then I will be ok, because I usually have a charger at work, and in the car, and at home. And just since just typing this, my s3 uses the same charger as my kindle fire, and I have that charger at work as well.
 
Yea I got chargers hooked up everywhere too it just sucks having to always charge it when I never charged my iPhone
 
I've noticed that people who do all this switching back and forth between iphone and different androids, talk all that shit about the consumerist fools who buy every new iphone, meanwhile they're buying iPhones PLUS all the others.

One person saying their battery life is bad would make you change your mind? I can get about 17 hours on one charge. Hell when I'm on wifi exclusively I can get over 24 hours. Also, silly apps like JuiceDefender aren't needed.

Considering that all my Iphones have been very good on battery life but I have heard many stories of S3s been bad on battery, then it would make sense for me to pull back on the s3.
