the best browser for my sony ericsson w800i/w810i is OPERA MINI.....fully surf web(post on BGOL, download a pic or Album) and you check your EMAIL(i've check my email, and sent email{hotmail})
Said it before and will say it again, Sony Ericssons have, hands down, the best MP3 Player(called the WALKMAN) of any phone i've ever used..period
most likely this phone will be sold unlocked at SONY STYLE (retail store and web site) and other Retail outlets that sell unlocked phones--------if it does get picked up by a carrier, maybe AT&T(since the already sell Sony Ericssons) or T-MOBILE------but most likely it will sell unlocked
rumors are swirling----------------$699.99 est. retailBefore they even begin to talk about killing the Iphone they best to at least give us a round about price!

Not gonna doubt you as I didn't try that phone yet, I will check it out, but iphone out the box does everything I need. Full browser, real imap and pop support, ipod for when I'm on the move and integrates with my car system and best of all syncs with my mac without needing some 3rd party software like missing sync or anything.

Actually there was already an iPhone before Apples (as far as concept and features). It was the NOKIA 7710. IMO the best phone ever created. The limitations were the memory (which could be maxed out to 2 gigs I thinks) and the processor were slow for large web pages. http://www.mobileburn.com/gallery.jsp?Id=1137&source=RELATED
You could play movies, touch screen, speaker system was crisp and loud - the works. I was waiting for an upgrade to the phone but I was told two years ago, by a Nokia rep, that touch screen technology was not going to be used in the market any more so they quit. WTF?!?!?
Then Apple comes out with the iPhone NOW they are in development mode again - dumb@$$e$.
They could have had the market on lock, but the messed up bigtime. Now they are coming out with a new phone that rivals the iPhone, but they are going to be perceived as "jocking" Apple as opposed to being trailblazers.
I am brand loyal so I am not buying any new phone until I see this one close up:

The phone may be great, but does Sony have a following? Years ago there was the Sony Ericson p900 which was a great PDA phone that did a lot of things other pda phones couldn't. It was way too expensive, about 500 bucks. I know people are willing to pay a lot of money for the iPhone but will they pay the same amount for the Sony phone.

KEEP IN MIND SONY ERICSSON IS THE NUMBER 3 CELL PHONE MAKER IN THE WORLD----YET THEY ACCOUNT FOR 2% OF THE USA MARKET............SONY WILL SUCCEED GLOBALLY WITH THIS PHONE, BUT AS FOR THE USA WHO KNOWS----MAYBE IF A CARRIER IN THE USA PICKS IT UP, BUT SONY IS GLOBALLY FOCUSSED, SO IT MAY NOT SEE A CARRIER IN NORTH AMERICA
