Xiaomi Note 10 108MP camera flagship killer under $550 MKBHD review

108 megapixels doesn't mean anything.
Tell 'em again!
Its all about the glass, which a camera phone will never have. Hell, most of the people buying these phones for the cameras never take them off "auto" everything and have never touched exposure or light settings.
If you wanna take pro pics, buy a real camera with a real lens. Otherwise, don't waste your money on megapixel count.
Smartphones are good enough for your snapchat/instagram/whatever social media pics but those tiny ass sensors and having no glass means they will always be sub par compared to real cameras. It takes more than a lot of megapixels. That goes double for video. Don't even get me started on how essential lenses are. Don't be fooled by all of that marketing. Nexflix ain't gonna accept your cameraphone-shot movie. :D

Everyone that I know that owns a Note or S series all have screen burn in
AMOLED Screen burn in

That happened on my note 8. On my Note 10 it's yet to happen. I keep my brightness down and don't leave it on certain pages (learned my lesson)

Not quite. 108 megapixels means a whole lot. Lenses these days not so much.

But...
108 MP only means something if you have a big sensor, like medium format. THAT is the restriction. Not MPs or lenses. Cell phones have tiny sensors and sensors (film in the old days) are what captures the image. You can get great pictures with a so-so lens and a FF or MF sensor. Even an APS-C or MFT will do the job. But a cell phone? Nope. Take a look.

Now, the thing today is cell phones are using an algorithm in their camera processors that "shift" the pixels so one pixel now gathers the information of 4 or more. That's where you get the 108. Divide by 4 it's more like 27. This is the new wave of photography...maybe.

Another thing is, can the phone shoot RAW? Any halfway serious photographer shoots RAW. No, not in the raw, that's a personal choice but most photos are going to need some post and so the more data captured the better results in post. Just check the size of the files. A cell phone picture compared to a FF RAW image. The differences are stark.

My comment was in conjunction to sensor capacity.
I work with professional gear all of the time. From cameras to projection, in some cases, the lenses are practically the same price as the cameras themselves, if not more. Of course if you don't have the aperture, you don't have any use for the lenses. That being said, nobody professional is shooting movies without lenses on their cameras. NOBODY. Therefore, glass is important. The shot restriction you would have shooting without lenses would bust you down to youtube vlogger. You can make a cool product demo or unboxing video with just your phone but these cell phone companies have people believing that they can shoot Hype Williams or Director X-level music videos on their phones. Its pure bullshit. Higher pixel count results in sharper image quality...in the center/focus point.
My whole point was the marketing of megapixels when you have a tiny sensor is the deception.
My point still stands. You can take a better instagram pic with this camera. Cool. You can even shoot better tic tok videos. Good for you. I just don't like how the marketing on all of these camera phones try to make people believe they can shoot a real movie on their phone, submit it to Netflix and go straight to the Oscars.

Netflix camera list:

You won't see any cellphones on there.
For a little bit more change, you can get into a real camera if you're gonna do pro work.
If you're just shooting photos that are gonna be compressed into jpgs or videos for youtube, any of the camera phones will do. These new phones are costing up to $1k+.
A blackmagic pocket cinema 4k has Netflix specs. Just sayin'.
My post is not a knock against cell phone cameras. They are great for what they are. There's a lot of tech in them. Its just that at the prices they are getting up to, the cost may not equal the intended usage.

I am a professional photographer and photo editor. If you qualify your answer to say you were in reference to sensor capacity that's kinda correct. As long as one understands that the capacity refers to the ability to record data in one image, usually expressed in megapixels. Which is why megapixels are important. Lenses, meh. I've got lenses over 10k and I can get almost as good shots with a kit lens. Don't get me wrong, glass is important but the technology has come so far that even kit glass can get outstanding results provided the photographer has a bit of talent. And then...post.
It is inevitable these days that you must PP your pics. If you don't they'll look weird because everybody else's are PP. This is again where megapixels come into play because the more MP you have the more data you can capture and the more data you have the more you can bring out in post. I won't even get in micro-contrast and HDR.

One thing I can surely agree with you is that cell phone cameras are a long way from SLRS or digitals. They just have software in them that makes it appear that the pictures are great. And the software is geared towards small file sizes. In the time-tested method of determining a quality exposure all you have to do is blow it up. Those cell phone pics won't get past 3x6.

This will take shots in raw and jpg, like one of my older Samsung phones

That's a good feature but its sensor is still too small to capture enough data to allow pro post. Dynamic range is minuscule.
But that's the world we live in - everything is geared towards social media..

Samsung is going to force everyone else to step their camera game up.

I wouldn't be surprised if they try to have 8k 60 fps capabilities on the S21.

8k video recording is available on the mi 10T with the snapdragon 865 that model is 715.00

Looks like the pro version of the phone sold out in 55 seconds. I'll still take the S20 Ultra though.
I'll buy it in 3 months and give this one to my son. Just to make sure they worked the kinks out. I waited til 3 updates came through for this phone to work out before buying same as with the other two models I bought.
