What I'm talking about is owning it. Taking a serious look at the whole picture. What others did to us, and what we do to ourselves. Then from there, figuring out ways to fix it. So, you're right, it doesn't stop with just placing blame. That's only one step in the process.
When i was in africa i met people who could trace their lineage back a thousand years.
A THOUSAND YEARS. The sheer enormity of that amazes me. They know where they came from, they know what they did. They know what they were capable of. I met people who've been on a patch of land for 100's of years. They owned it, their family owned it. They had their own beliefs, they're own familial spirits.

Most people (black, white or Asian) can't trace their roots back further than two or three generations (nor much care to). Black folks WAY overrate the idea of going back a thousand years. Just tracing your family back as far as slavery days is a HUGE achievement, and should be enough. Most WHITES have never gone anywhere near that far back.
