How the fuck is it 3p.m. across all of middle America at the same time? This timezone shit has me perplexed right now.
You do realize that this is all across the world right? Not just in America right? These time zones that is. So really the only short time zone is the mountain time. The others on the end go into the ocean so they are pretty big too.

Why can't you say, "How is it 4pm across the Eastern Seaboard at the same time?"
That would equate to the same thing.
Time zones don't stop on the east and west coasts. They travel throughout the planet.
Sorry about the sizing, but the earth is pretty big.
