Some hot jobs that earn over 30$ an hour

Good post...

A mentor once said to me: "you can earn a living working at your job or you can make a fortune working for yourself"...i choose the latter.

I hate when ppl say this cuz there are too many ppl making a fortune working for someone else and even waaaaay more ppl w/ their own businesses who are broke as shit to be flaunting this statement around like it's a golden rule when it's not...do wtf works for you and stop selling stories

Your math is off. $30hr comes out to $63,000 a year. That is great money you can get a $200,000 home and afford a up to $700 on a car note with ease and have plenty of money left over. you trippin

Actually it comes out to $57,600 if you workin 40 hours a week, after taxes that will probably be down to $50k/high 40's

Exactly everybody is not built to own businesses.

What's funny is the niggas who make minimum wage get upset with niggas who say $30/hr ain't no money. The minute a nigga says he makes more than YOU, he's automatically a liar. They'd rather believe a nigga's lying than believe another nigga's in a better position than him. :dunno:

The associates degree in nursing ain't gonna fly anymore.

Many hospitals are already requiring new rn's to have bsn's. The existing rn's get a pass based on job experience.

In 2012, they are likely gonna raise the requirement to become a nurse practicioner, nurse anesthetist and certified nurse specialist to a doctorate in nursing. Up from the current msn level.

That's the reason why my wife jumped into the msn program so quick. Hoping she'll be grandfathered in before the switch over. She's even already started her DEA paperwork.

It's a lucrative field, but that asn degree is only gonna go so far. More nurse are starting to become advance practice which means more money, but more education.

I don't believe this because having a BS or BA does nothing in the field of nursing. Remember during the first two years of a BA or BS you are not taking classes in your field. You only take classes in you major after you complete the first two years of school. So I just find it hard to believe taking World history, music, language arts, math, PE, public speaking, or any other irrelevant class has anything to do with nursing.

With an AS degree you learn nothing but nursing field and that is all. So I don't see the logic behind using only nurses with only BS or BA degrees

 you short changed yourself. You calculated it by 12 months. Remember there are 52 weeks in a year so if you only calculated it by months you will come up short because all months don't have equal days in them so you missing about two weeks or so

The problem is the op dropped specified information on some careers that pay $30...the niggas you talking about is just telling stories w/ no details/specifics...ya it's a HUGE shock why no 1 believes them...and no 1 said anything about any 1 making minimum wage...you just making shit up to derail a positive attempt @ a thread

This is a good post. I have an associates in nursing and also radiography. I would like to get into nuc med, but too tired to go back to school now.

Selling stories? You can choose to spend all your time online...your choice. Don't knock what your simple mind can't seem to grasp. There are plenty of opportunity to start your own or purchase a business that has potential, as a start. You sound like a bitter unemployed pessimist...catchin' e-feelings? It ain't that serious, kid.

Not all niggas are like Da Don and feel the need to give details on their money. I used "minimum wage" synonymously with "low budget" or "less than $30/hr". I maintain, why is it hard for you niggas to accept there are dudes here who make more than you? The cost of living & salary varies in all locations, not all niggas do the same thing you do, and some niggas have more years of experience than you.

Na you're full of shit...no feelings were displayed...just facts...majority of business owners are nowhere close to earning fortunes...if anything you're letting YOU'RE personal feelings fuck up your thinking...if you're doing well that is great...I would never knock someone and only offer the utmost respect to those who run their own business even if it's by the skin of their teeth...I've expressed that sentiment for years...that being said you are flat out wrong to insinuate everyone could be financially better off by running their own business

My problem w/ the cats in here story-telling is you are doing just that regardless of whether or not it's true...w/ no specifics you are just telling stories...and ya cats are gonna be skeptical and reasonably so if all you are doing is discrediting specified information but offering none of your own...for all I know you could be a dumb out of work dude who don't even have a degree and seeing shit like this make you upset...that's a more plausible reason for why you feel the need to down the info just like you assuming that cats who are in the thread asking the op questions must be on some minimum wage shit

No feelings displayed huh? Yet, you're putting words in my mouth...where did you read "everyone" in my post? I simply mentioned what is clearly a choice, no? You answered. You're obviously not cut out for either...so do you and we'll agree to disagree.

Even if true that's still not a display of feelings...and maybe you don't know what the word 'insinuate' means. Given the quote from your mentor there's not really much room for choice if you can't think for yourself.

Okay...then where did i 'insinuate' that everyone would be better off financially by owning a business?

depends on where you live.

$200k aint buying you shit in DC. You are coughing up at least $250k for a 1bed condo in the district.

single family home with a few rooms in a decent neighborhood is gonna start at $400k or so which is why most people commute from the burbs.

I'm just going by what I see.

almost all the major hospitals in the philadelphia area are only hiring degreed rn's. From what I'm hearing, the asn program is just a huge nclex prep class with the primary focus being passing the nclex. The 2, 4 and accelerated bsn programs go more in depth by breaking down each area of nursing separately with a corresponding clinical rotation.

Regardless, why get the asn if you plan on advancing in the field. To be a practicioner, you need at least an msn. To get into msn programs you need a bsn.
but at the end of the day, there will always be nurses needed on various levels. It's really just about how high you want to go.
