Ok, very interesting situation. I think you should have a conversation with him about your feelings regarding sex and his. If this is something you really need, then let him know, I doubt he will be able to read your mind or that he may or may not pick up on your signals. I think communication is the key.

If this is your man, and you two have been away from one another for THAT damn long, and now all of a sudden he wants to play the "I'm saving myself" card, either one or two things are up:
1: While he's been away for this long, he's probably had him some side pussy where he was, and got caught slipping -- condom broke, ran in it raw, what have you -- and caught something. His only way to not transfer what he's got back to you, and still come out on top is to play that card, like "I know we've fucked before, but now all of a sudden, I want to save myself."
