I would say if you're going into this field, take some business classes at the community college so you know how to market the business and manage the books. The "don't go to college crowd" is typically people sending their kids to college and not wanting them to have any competition...like the Fox News hosts that all went to college and send their kids to exclusive private schools to set them up for college. White mediocrity is deathly afraid of black excellence. All we know how to do is give 100 percent, and that doesn't bode well for people that think things should be handed to them(good debate point if someone wants to say white privilege doesn't exist).The problem is that there's a bunch of people out there that looked down on being a plumber or electrician. A lot of them not realizing how much those dudes make cause they live in rentals and don't pay for the work they are getting done on their place.
You want a plumber to come to your house...$200 minimum.
You want your dishwasher repaired.... $80 just to look at it.
Same with electricians.
