more meaningful Gold Cup that the US hosts. I also remember how Preki scored
against Brazil around the same time, and the US held on for dear life, and came

these irrelevant friendlies...Come the World Cup, the US was put in its place...

Football is the only thing the other teams play all day and all night. The US has
no advantage whatsover. The other teams have better players, more money,
more knowledge...

Gloat all you want. The World Cup comes every 4 years, you will see. But way
before that they US will be humbled in the Under 17, Under 21, and if they

rules such as how many subs to have. If the coach wants to test his defense he may
instruct the midfield to aquiesce and let the other team test his backline. He may throw
in the reserve keeper. That is the purpose of a friendly, to discover weaknesses on your
team. These are things that you cannot do in your own practise, because you are
playing against your own strategy

The Dutch coach pumped in 3 goals and called off the horses. His offense had proved
a point. And if his defence had not been tested, he could have called for that to happen.

Now he knows where the problems are, and for that reason he is better off than parking
the bus in front of the goal and riding out a 3-1 win.

If you are a boxer, you test all the facets of your game against sparring partners. But
if you KO all of your partners in round one, what will you learn about yourself??

To be real unless it's a club it don't matter anymore. Because you only hhave your team for a short limited of ttime. So you can't really train on tactics like with a regular football club. You depend more on you star players. To do the job.

For instant germany wasn't really that greeat with the friendlies before the world cup. And they still won. It was to the point that people where giving France, Spain and Italy aa chance to win the cup.

Now like said earlier for smaller countries it can be helpful. But at thhe same time when you play against countries that don't give a shit it kinda defeats the purpose.

For example look at Messi. He just played won the league, won champions league and went straight to Copa america to play and lose in the finales. Like they are playing too many games now it's crazy. If fifa didn't made it mandatory for the players to play u wouldn't see half the players play friendlies.

Best advise I would give is to play against countries who are in the same position as you. Or a rival. Where you kknow they are going to give 100%. Or before the tournament starts you play 2 or 3 games just beofre the tournament starts.
