Not until Messi leaves Barcelona and make it somewhere else, I'll not(IMO) ever consider him to be as great as his dickriders want to make him out to be.
The man is good at football no doubt. However, I just don't hold him in that high esteem :smh:

Ok Candle u gonna need to give me a real good detailed reason why Messi shouldn't get the Lebron scrutiny at this point in his career?

Salute to Chile

And my little girls

Cause Ummmm I wasn't trying to be the only brother in a townhouse full of angry Argentinian women and a open fire grill and alcohol.

For me, I don't rate international football on the level of club football. It's two different monsters. I catch hell from elders that rate the World Cup or international tournaments higher because in their day, that was the standard, but times have changed. I'll take the champions league over the World Cup anyday of the week. The best managers in the world agree with that sentiment.

Today club football is where ALL the quality is. You have the absolute best of the best in every position on the pitch. Multi millionaires occupying every spot.

Many football experts couldn't name the Chilean back line tonight but can tell you the starting XI for Real Madrid and their bench and academy players. It is what it is.

It's their where my argument lies for why the best of the best shine for their clubs, but disappear for their national teams. Ibrahimovic, Messi, Ronaldo all the aces that we watch week in and week out that dominate more times than not dissappear for country. No one is immune to it. Football is simply more than a one man game, unlike how it was in years past.

It's also very difficult for these national team managers to put together such a stringent campaign when they only have X amount of time and all these varying styles of play coming in from all over the world. This is why many teams suffer in today's international tournaments. Look at the Euros and the wealth of teams that are about to exit in the quarterfinals.

I'm not making excuses here, but I called it DURING this thread that for three years in a row now, we've watched Messi deliver sumptuous assists to Higuain, who's flubbed them in front of goal in major finals. If he buries those, Messi lifts 3 international trophies and we're not having this conversation at all. Is that Messi's fault and does that affect his legacy? I'm hard pressed to believe so.

Please believe that Messi will receive scrutiny that trumps Lebrons cause let's face it, that's the relationship of fan and player in any sport, and to the victor goes the spoils, but I personally would rather judge him when he's playing against the best of the best.

Football: Lionel Messi announces he is quitting the Argentina national team

Club football is all about financial power.
Hence we have shitty leagues like La Liga that is a duopoly, shitty league like league Ligue 1 in France, Serie A in Italy and etc. We see more competitiveness in England but the trophy is awarded to like 5 teams on a consistent base. To be exact only 6 teams has won the trophy since the EPL started in 1992.

World cup, you have to play with what you have which make it more difficult for players like Ronaldo and Messi to sit in that goal scoring comfort. That's why I said Messi can never be the greatest because when put to the test in situation where the talent is spread out he looks average. Remember we are talk about a player that has yet to score in the knockout stage in the world cup (after 3 WC appearances). He still cannot handle double marking. We see chile did the same thing Germany did and Messi could not produce.

He deserve the Lebron treatment especially when people say he is better than Maradona and Pele.

Jamie Carragher puts Klinsmann ahead of Shearer for England job

Former England and Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher likes the idea of having United States coach Jurgen Klinsmann as Roy Hodgson's replacement, ahead of compatriot Alan Shearer.

England are in the process of recruiting a new man at the helm after Hodgson's swift resignation following their round of 16 exit from Euro 2016 at the hands of Iceland.

The Three Lions scored from the penalty spot through Wayne Rooney but Iceland came storming back with goals from Ragnar Sigurdsson and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson to record a famous victory that sent England packing.

The English Football Association has not ruled out appointing another foreign manager to take charge of England, with a three-man panel already in place to make the selection.

And Carragher, who retired with 38 international caps for England, reckons Klinsmann is one of the better candidates to take over the England hot seat. The German guided the U.S. through a challenging group and into the round of 16 at the 2014 World Cup and recently led the Americans to the Copa America semifinal before losing 4-0 to Lionel Messi's Argentina.

"My own view is that international football should be about the best in your country against the best of someone else's, so I had always favoured an Englishman but there can be no complaints if the FA look to a foreign coach," Carragher told the Daily Mail.

"With that in mind, I wouldn't knock the idea of appointing Jurgen Klinsmann, who has been to a World Cup semifinal with Germany, a Copa America semifinal with the United States and knows our game."

BTW, no Euro 2016 Thread?
Please point me to it if there's one. That Germany Italy Game was something if you ask me. That game had all the elements of The Final. I was saying who ever wins that tie wins the Cup so let's see how it goes

You insist on remaining an idiot. The reason why international football will always be superior is that
the passion is at the national level. In Club football, 10 EPL teams are in England, where is there that
passion that drives a Mexico-USA encounter??
