^ even though ive been playing the game for 16 years, since i was 5. i still watch some of these videos from time to time.
I recntly watched the documentary of Zidane playing a game for Real Madrid, Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait. they had like 17 HD cameras following him, it was like a movie, just watching his touch on the ball and off the ball running, i learnt somethings for when i went park the next day to play the usual 6 v 6 we do :D

Yea this is a good flick. Learning the game always comes from watching the best, and imitating the best.

Crazy. I had tickets for this but ended up getting caught up with work and couldn't go. Brazil plays friendlies often in London. I did end up going to the England Egypt friendly at Wembley but the selection of women was seriously lacking...haha (good thing cause the wife was in tow) There is a place in shoreditch called bar kick/cafe kick that is packed with brazilians whenever they play. I discovered it during the confederations cup.

BV,

I know this place very well by shoreditch church. Yes you're right, brazilians do fill up the place when Brazil plays.

Another question...I assume there is gambling on the games.

How are the lines set??...when almost all the games end in either 1-0,2-1...if not tied. And in a tie...the bookies would hate that.

Probably one of the reasons it has not caught on here....gambling mad nation that the USA is.

I think it is much easier to bet in the UK on sports than it is here in the US.
These joints are all over the U.K. as well as a ton of others just like them.

If you click on world cup 2010 at the top left and then scroll down, you will see that you can bet anything from the first goal scorer to whether or no Maxi Rodriguez will dive during the game...

We should make a thread with all of the spots to hit on match days in London, Madrid, Milan et al. I think it would be helpful especially for the brothers going to their first match abroad.

On Saturday, July 31st Manchester City Football Club will play Internazionale Milano, commonly known as Inter Milan. Manchester City is a member of England’s elite Barclays Premier League and is making their first trip to the U.S., while Inter Milan competes in Italy’s top league, Italian Serie A. This is the second consecutive year that M&T Bank will host teams from two of Europe’s top soccer leagues. Last year’s A.C. Milan vs. Chelsea matchup was a sell out and we anticipate that tickets for this match will go just as fast. Don’t miss the chance to see these two internationally recognized teams, as well as many star players.

In July 2010 right after the World Cup, the Manchester United squad will go to the USA to prepare for their 2010/2011 season. They will be visiting Toronto, Philadelphia, Kansas and Houston.

Fixtures:

July 16, 2010 – Glasgow Celtic, Toronto
July 21, 2010 – Philadelphia Union, Philadelphia
July 25, 2010 – Kansas City Wizards, Kansas
July 28, 2010 – MLS All-Stars, Houston

The squad will be lead by Ryan Giggs and it will include stars like Paul Scholes, Edwin van der Sar, Darren Fletcher, Antonio Valencia, John O’Shea, Michael Owen and Dimitar Berbatov. Accompanying them, will be a number of promising youngsters like Federico Macheda and the da Silva twins.

The first stop is a training camp at the home of their new shirt sponsors AON. Then on 16th, they will head to Rogers Center in Toronto for the match against Celtic. Followed by a return to Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, where they have already played in 2003 and 2004 on July 21 to play against Philadelphia Union. Four days later, they head to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas to play against Kansas City. The last of the friendlies is the game against MLS All-Stars in the Reliant Stadium.

Two days later, United will be in Mexico to open Chivas’ new 45,000 seater stadium in Guadalajara.

Alex Ferguson said:

“It’s great to be going back to North America. I enjoyed the last two tours there in 2003 and 2004 immensely. The quality of the facilities is outstanding and there is a real enthusiasm in the crowds. It’s especially pleasing to be going in a World Cup year, when the interest in football will be at its height.”

After the euphoria of the World Cup and the interest that was generated here. Coinciding with the impending start of the EPL I thought it maybe a good idea of starting a BGOL Fantasy Football League.

It will be interesting to see how people can do more than talk the talk when it comes to football. Pick your players and then compare their scores to others here on BGOL.

If anyone wants to join go to the site below.

http://fantasy.premierleague.com/

Click on 'Leagues' on the left then go to the 'Create / Join' tab.

Once there go to the 'Join private league' box and copy and paste this code in the box.

150195-43951

You will then find yourself in the 'BGOL' league. Once there set yourself up and choose your players wisely. Feel free to join.

Any problems let me know.
