SNOWFALL FX discussion thread

Was it just me in my head but why did Franklin have more of a snarl or accent than any other episode, tonight.

Also not sure if this was said before but I feel like this show is a rendition of the life of Freeway Ricky Ross. Like possibly how he became to where he is. Because now he knows that Reed is govt and still gonna do what he gotta do and get paid. Think next season we will see him dealing with shipments back and forth to Nicaragua and South America overall.

JUST LIKE THERE IS SELF-DEFENSE, THEIR IS DEFENSE OF A THIRD PARTY...IF FRANKLIN WALKED INTO MY OFFICE, I WOULD TELL HIM HE'S GOOD.

He shot Kev because Kev was going to kill an innocent man who was only in the park to visit with his young daughter. And the daughter was present when Kev was going to shoot.
Also present was the person who brought the child (witness)
The DEA agent went there to stop Kev from killing the Mexican. (witness)
The Icequeen knew Kev was going to kill the Mexican.(witness)
But the only one who ACTUALLY stopped Kev from killing the Mexican was Franklin......not guilty all day long....BUT, since it is Cali, he might have to take hit on a gun charge....
Excellent legal analysis.

That shit gotta be heartbreaking to a parent to not only have to visit your son in prison and then when you get there your worst fears are true and he’s been beaten to a pulp. I think Leon’s words and his moms reactions are what saved him because he was doing bad.

his pops tryna have a “dad” bonding moment w/ him when he was in jail after all these years of fucking up sent him over the edge

shit ain’t no joke tho man...they did a great job of showcasing just how scary jail shit is...I’m glad all the bullshit I did never caught up to me

Yes. It is loosely based on the government's flooding the hood with crack cocaine to raise money to fight the war in Nicaragua. It is well documented.

I'm wondering if crack was invented in oakland/the bay area why there hasnt been any1 there building an enterprise from it

Not invented, but introduced on a mass scale for the government to raise money for a war under Ronald Reagan. There were actual congressional hearings.

Cant lie. I waited until today to watch the finale because I feared what they were going to do to Franklin from last weeks previews. I'm surprised that he didnt have someone in there from jump watching his back, but I'm happy with how they brought it full circle and how Franklin is putting shit together. Next season is going to be a beast!

On Saturday, Deadline reported that John Singleton, the director and screenwriter behind works like Boyz n the Hood and Rosewood, has suffered a stroke and is now receiving ICU care. His family released a statement, clarifying:

“On Wednesday, April 17th, our beloved son/father, John Singleton, suffered a stroke while at the hospital. John is currently in the ICU and under great medical care. We ask that privacy be given to him and our family at this time and appreciate all of the prayers that have been pouring in from his fans, friends and colleagues.”

In 1992, Singleton became the first African-American director, and youngest director ever, to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director for Boyz n the Hood (which also earned him a Best Original Screenplay nomination). More recently, John Singleton created and has been working as executive producer on the critically acclaimed FX series Snowfall, which is set to premiere its third season later this year. Across social media, friends and admirers alike are reaching out to share well wishes and prayers for a quick recovery.
