Just a quick guide on upcoming smartphones for business minded folks. These phones will all feature QWERTY keyboard/pads for the users that prefer the feel of actual keys and are just not ready for touchscreen phones. Of course they will all have the features you expect from email tasks & apps. Also, the ability to view, create, & edit all of your office docs on the go. Most of these phones are on the AT&T network or atleast capable of being used on it. Let's begin and feel free to add any that you have your eye on when it comes out, as long as it follows the theme of post. So no STORM,iPHONE,THUNDER, etc..lol

BlackBerry Pearl 8120
A nice update to the wildly popular Pearl that should extend the line's life another year. RIM fixed the niggles we had with the first version-- namely moving the microSD card slot out from under the battery, tweaking SureType prediction, enhancing the web browser and adding WiFi. We'd have loved a GPS inside but given the Pearl's very small size, there may well be a limit to how many features RIM can squeeze in. For those who aren't wed to full QWERTY keyboards and prefer a small, sexy device for serious messaging, the new Pearl is an excellent choice. It's fast, stable and easy to use. The multimedia features are growing up, and the once all-business BlackBerry can now ID songs, play XM Radio, act as in iPod stand-in and take quite good photos.

What service is that Nokia E71 with?

What cell phone provider?
As of now you have to buy it unlocked. No Carrier picked it up. I'm about to get it soon. Will be using it on the AT&T network. Seems to be a really decent smartphone.

Yeah, tripped out when I found out it was a touchscreen also. Screen was so small, didn't think it was possible, but it is. Blackjack users are easily going to continue using Samsung phones with this new one.

Yep, and now I know what phone I'ma upgrade to from the Samsung Blackjack 2. Not only does it have the touchscreen, but it has the qwerty keypad too.

IS THE MOTOROLA OUT NOW? AND WHY IS E71 THAT GOOD? I MIGHT GET IT

I don't think the Q11 is out yet. Should be a matter of days or weeks though.
E71- love the design, sleekness of it. I'm a fan of S60 OS, haven't had any problems with it before. Everytype of messesaging I need. I can create, view, & edit docs that are sent to and from work, without having to download any apps to the phone. It actually can switch from business homescreen to a personal homescreen. Of course its not the fastest "net" phone, but it serves its purpose. Everything I need in a phone. Always have to get any gadget for what purpose you would need it majority of the time.

 AIGHT i will look in to it

The Wi-Fi & WinMo 6.1 Professional edition is a huge addition to an already great phone! Already have a few Blackjack users at work that are asking me about this one. Didn't know it was there until the FAM off of here pointed it out to me. Really good job on this one!:D

Are you using the Motorola Q9 right now? Wish Moto would put more than one smartphone out a time. Guess they don't want to put too much in it against the likes of RIM.
My only compliant about Motos I've had before is some drop calls from time to time. Seems like the internal antennas were crappy

Cool. Man, I really wanted that damn Sony X1, but I just can't fork over that amount of cash for it right now. Plus now I know they are working on another version already, going back to the Symbian OS, I will rock the N71 until otherwise.:dance:

It's not about the phone, its about the OS, and Windows Mobile is the Devil himself. Soon all these phones are gonna be flat screens that run an OS. Stay away from Windows Mobile. Shit is ass grease and buggy.

Now that "Quantum of Solace" has opened, I'm willing to bet that Soney Ericsson will be releasing the Xperia soon. All of the phones in the movie (as well as the laptops) were Sonys.

Already has, even before the movie came out. Well, Amazon had them on sale for $849 and they're sold out right now. Waiting list now

I finally got my HTC Touch Pro last week. The only complaint that I have about it is the relatively short battery life. I guess this may be partly because of all the new stuff that I am doing with this "phone". I actually use the term "phone" loosely because this machine is so much more. It is almost a laptop! It comes with Windows Mobile, and pre-loaded Microsoft Office Mobile, Adobe Reader, and Windows Media Player. I find myself reading my research papers on my phone, writing briefs and notes, and listening to music. I think this may be the reason that my battery life is so short. Also, I love the haptic feedback keyboard because I don't think I'd be able to do all the typing that I do with a touchscreen keyboard. Overall, I'd give this a 4.5 out of 5 because of the short battery life!
