Doesnt bother me unless the guy is the type that thinks all black women are beneath him. one thing i have noticed is that a lot of black men with white women have no problem openly flirting with you even with the woman present.

Some of y'all might be too young to remember but she and Sidney pottier and Sammy D. broke the ice with this color barrier thing. They were obviously looking to advance their careers but, just the same, they wanted to prove a point that there was no difference. Advance the clock a couple of decades when Oprah had some fine, high-steppin sisters on her show and they said on national television for the world to hear, what their criteria was for dating a brother. Hell, sounded like they were shoppin for Howard Hughes. And the biggest put down was when the description of the man they would never date fit a good 75% of American Black men. We all should know a little about the history of slavery and the shit the Black man had to take to protect his women but that don't count worth beans today. Women of any color have the advantage over her male counterparts, partly because of that dark, warm spot between her legs. Lets face it. She may have brains and the quals but male employers are going to eye her up and down and measure his chances with her before hiring her. A brother is considered a threat and if he is aggressive, radical. Chances are, he is not going to get the same job. The passing of the Civil Rights Act provided Black women a leg up over Black men. Truth. Now, if the employers HAD to hire someone, they would rather have the woman. Much easier to deal with. To add insult to injury, the very same people who benefited from the sacrifices of the Black man are now on Oprah saying "He better drive a Benz or Beemer and pull in six figures before I even give him the time of day, heh heh heh." (There are too many who actually think like that and choose White guys instead) If I go to a restaurant and there two items on the menu, steak and a pork chop, and I only have a buck fifty, I sure as hell am going to eat rather than starve. If a sister has a problem with a Black hunk walking down the street with a woman of another race, maybe she should take a look at herself and her "sisters" who made it impossible for that Bro' to get with them and caused him to choose someone who, while not as dope as a Black woman, was willing to provide him with the nurturing and companionship the sister wouldn't give.

It used to bug me alot when I was younger ... now I don't really care ... I guess seeing it so much in Toronto has desensitized me to it:dunno:

The only part that still bugs me about it is any man I have ever come in contact with that dates non-Black women has always acted like it was some sort of an upgrade ... they always say "oh we date White, Asain, etc... women cuz Black women are "insert negative stereotype here"" ... I'm not saying all of them feel that way ... I'm just saying all of the ones I've met

Personally I feel we are better without them cuz I wouldn't want to date a man that is racist against his own anyways and if I hear "I don't normally date Black girls but I like your hair" one more time I'm gonna scream:angry::lol:

No actually ... the Black men used to hide the fact that they dated non-Black women for a really long time cuz like 95% of the Black women would hate on them for it ... now since the Black men realized soooooo many of them do it they banded together and brought it out into the open ... the Black women figured it's a waste of breath now to argue with it so we all just chill ... well most of us ... you'll still hear the occasional "he's with a bambaclot white gyal" ... and the Black women up here just started dating non Black men just recently ... well I guess you're partialy right cuz it's cool now but that coolness just now started ... it wasn't always like that ... the resentment is still there though believe me ... it's just low key now
 
I once had a guy tell me that he could date any white girl and it be looked at as "a step up" in his hometown. However, if he was going to date a black girl, she had to be the baddest one he could find if she was going to meet his people. :rolleyes:

To answer the question, it used to really bother me. But now, I just don't care. In fact, I kind of expect to see it.
 
Why do people care so much? I honestly dont care who somebody dates whether its somebody black, white, hispanic, asian or whatever. Be with whoever makes you happy.​

Like I always say, it doesn't matter if a brother gets with a non-black woman. But the men who say things like "I don't date black women because XYZ" are the ones I have a problem with.

I disagree with some of the comments made about Toronto. When you look at the black culture up here, most of the "black" people are West Indian and haven't had a problem with interracial coupling. If you don't believe that, look at the islands. You have Chinese mixed with Black, Indian mixed with Chinese, Black mixed with European, African mixed with Chinese, etc.

If black women are complaining and black men are hiding it (as Lone stated earlier) it's definitely a generational thing, because the older generations ain't about all that noise and bullshit. They believe you love who you love, no matter what colour they are.
