Should Bruce come back as Batman

We all know it's a matter time before Bruce comes back but Morrison and DC has admitted though it might now be as Batman.

I honestly don't mind if he doesn't come back. I'm a big Batman fan but I haven't enjoyed reading Bat books like this since Jeph Loeb stint.

Plus Grayson has always been a damn good character and seeing him take that next step is great.

Also Tim is finally his own man and hero.

I was wondering how other comic fans feel.

No he shouldn't come back.

But I am in the camp that thinks he should have been dead years ago when he was doing drop kicks on Metron and Darkseid.

Currently, he is quantum leaping with ziggy and the backstreet bunch.

I was almost going to agree with your opinion, but, then I saw you praise Morrison and Jeph Loeb?!?

Batman R.I.P. (got a back up plan for an insanity attack)?!?
Red Hulk (kills Elder of Universe and Silver Surfer)?!?

These are in my opinion two of the worst writers in the history of comics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed.

You can tell some of these cats never read the good stuff of Batman and other classic writer when they start praising fluff books.

Read

Legends of the Dark Knight: Venom

and/or

some of these

Top Batman Story arcs

Letting you know right now when they do the great reset...Batman RIP will be in the "never happened" stack.

I said I haven't enjoyed a batman book like this since (since is the keyword as last time.) Hush.

Hush was the last time I enjoyed a Batman book.

Also as I said I been enjoying what Morrison has been doing with Dick Grayson as well as Damien.

I said nothing of R.I.P. or any other book.

I like how he is handling Batman and Robin. The roles have reverse. A laid back Batman and a dark Robin??

Seeing the poster boy of side kicks take a sidekick?

Hearing little things like "I'm still adjusting to the cape. When I got out on my own that was the first thing I got rid of."

In Nightwing first story arc. Chuck Dixon describe that Nightwing felt that being based at Wayne Manor was too far from crime. He felt that they should have been based at Ground Zero. In the city.

The first thing Dick does? He moves the base of their operations to the city.

Dick is a different Batman and I feel Morrison has done a great job portraying that in Batman and Robin.

I disagree.

What's the point of Grayson being Batman when apparently no one (not the police nor criminals nor even worse his own sidekick) believes he is the real deal? That whole battle for the cowl was foolish because out of all the available replacements there was really only one viable choice (Grayson). Damien and Tim are too young and small. Jason is certifiably mad.

Morrison's current portrayal of Batman is garbage. Grayson has no business nor detective savvy. His sidekick is a loose cannon that he can not control. Most importantly, no one fears this Batman!

A Batman that can not out think his villains nor make them fear him will soon end up dead. Especially since he has no powers other than his mind and will. Both of which Grayson lacks under Morrison's writing.

But wait, Morrison will probably give Dick a backup plan where he too gets an alternate personality that runs non stop on adrenaline until he gets the bad guys!

You can also tell when someone (and I'm not speaking specifically about you) isn't familiar with someone's full body of work and is judging the entirety of a career based on their last 2-3 projects.

Have you ever read All-Star Superman or Batman: The Long Halloween?

Yes, I did read All-Star Superman. Superman's shrunken visits to Kandor are quite often but, can not restore them to their natural size is retarded. And Quitley's artwork is horrendous.

Look, I know comics are fantasy and all. But, even a fantasy universe should stick within reason to the laws and rules to which they have given.

Superman can shrink himself and restore his size so he can visit Kandor, but can't do it for any of the other Kryptonians there?

In Jeph Loeb's "Superman Batman Public Enemies", Superman has trouble fighting Metallo with his small piece of Kryptonite in his chest. But at the end has no trouble whatsoever recovering Batman from space in the midst of Kryptonite dust that in total amounts to several square miles of the stuff?

What about the time Batman put on Mr. Miracle's body armor and fought with Darkseid to retrieve Supergirl? In this great Jeph Loeb story not only does Batman secretly walk into (an unguarded) Darkseid storeroom for his planetary destruction Hellspore bombs, but, he easily figures out and reprograms Alien encrypted code. Then physically takes on Darkseid while threatening to blow Apocalypse asunder with the bombs. Batman willing to kill everyone on the planet for Supergirl whom he barely met 4 issues earlier?!?

This is not a new occurence. These two writers have sucked for years!

Agree with all of this.

Can't point out that one stellar book then eat all of the rest of the trash a writer pumps out. The liberties this writers take are a direct insult to the sensibilities of their consumer base.

Who said they only each have one good book? Each of them have multiple critically acclaimed, best-selling and/or award-winning titles. On the IGN Best Batman Stories link that you posted they have stories at #4 and #5 respectively and that's just work on Batman.

I'm not going to sit here and tell you why you should or shouldn't like Morrison and Loeb. You don't like their stuff, fine. But to say that they're among the worst writers ever is just hyperbolic.

Which was used a story point.

Art is subjective. Popular opinion however, disagrees with you.

In Jeph Loeb's "Superman Batman Public Enemies"..

Who mentioned that book? Wasn't me.

Then why are you still reading them? If banging your head against the wall hurts, stop doing it. Kinda like I'm going to do with this thread.

I mentioned it to point out that I was familiar with more than just there recent work per one of your previous snide comments posted above.

I read all books in a series both good and bad to get a complete picture before formulating my opinion.

That being said, just because something is criticaly acclaimed doesn't make it good.

But, forget all that I have a question for you. Which was better written to you? All-Star Superman or All-Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder?

I will use your answer to determine whether or not to personally value your opinion.

which was better written???
I have to go with All Star Superman. Sure the book was receive nothing but great reviews from the comic community. Winning and Eisner Award among others.

All Star Batman and Robin on the other hand had great are but had no idea where it was going. That book on the other hand was not met with the same reviews. We all know the jokes "I'm the god damn batman" Fans voted in a Wizard Poll it was the worst book of the all star line up.

After issue 10 the book has disappeared and as CBR mention no one really didn't care about the story or it completed. Jim Lee art can only go so far.

I know you probably prefer All Star Batman instead of All Star Superman but the majority considers Superman to be the better book.

No - At least not yet. They should at least let Richard be Bats for at least 2 years. Killing a character off then IMMEDIATELY bringing them back.................? They(dead important) not being there is cheapened and meaningless.

You know DC should just bite the fucking bullet. Admit (through a storyline and/or press release) that their universe is going go in cycles. Something like 5 to 10 years. Where we know the universe is going to come to an end due to "insert villain or entities name" - That way if they "kill" off character - We can get the cool stories of others in their shoes and the veteran fanboys can sleep easy knowing that soon the great reset is coming.

Personally, I don't think they can write this off correctly. Batman is the street (people's man) character of their U. Bringing him back, putting him in space, traveling in time...that shit just don't work for his overall character story.

How is Joker going to be a threat to Batman, Gotham...when Bruce went into Darkseid grill...died...came back...and is ready to hit the streets running...seriously.
