The National Weather Service issues Alaska’s first ever heat advisory

“This is an important statement, and the public needs to know that there will be increasing temperatures, and they could be dangerous because Alaska is not used to high temperatures like these,” said Alekya Srinivasan, a Fairbanks-based meteorologist. “We want to make sure that we have the correct wording and the correct communication when we’re telling people that it will be really hot this weekend,” she said.

A potent heat dome is building over the US, sending temperatures into the triple digits

Tens of millions of people from the Midwest to the East Coast will face a level 4-of-4 extreme heat risk Sunday through at least Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. Such long-lasting heat is rare, will likely offer little to no overnight relief and will affect anyone without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration,” the agency warns.

Man it's hot AF here in N.C. My car said it was 102. I got my house AC set for 66, and it can only get down to 71 which is borderline sweating.

Get a leaf blower and blow around your unit. Then take a garden hose with a jet nozzle and spray around all sides of the unit to get the dirt off.

I do this once a month from April- October and also change my air filters. Summer/Humidity is like 6 months in Houston and my unit still running strong.
