That's why I'm very picky where I eat at nowadays.
Agreed. I'm finding I like to give repeat business to the places I can trust. I.E. - good food, reasonably priced, and good service. Thankfully haven't had any bad experiences in recent years. Got about 4 - 5 places I've been to a handful of times, and it's a good feeling when you go there and can expect it to go smoothly. It's also reassuring when you go there with others wanting to see what they think, and they co-sign the experience as well.
My brother was visiting the city last fall in late-October. We happened to meet up with some family & friends of family at a Thai place for lunch. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Brother jokingly said to me the following day that he was running errands and stopped by there to pick up food to go as he wanted more. Same meal, haha. He was just visiting again earlier this month and went back there (different meal) saying he can trust that spot and they haven't let him down.
