Samsung Epic reviews roll in

The engadget one was on point with what I feel about TouchWiz and what I've been saying up here

I shouldn't have to use LauncherPro or ADW to make that shit look decent.

engadget said:
Many of our annoyances probably won't bug people who are just getting into Android for the first time, but some seasoned users -- particularly of stock Eclair or Froyo -- will be ready to punch Samsung's UI designers in the face after just a few minutes with the Epic. Our biggest issue is with the cartoonish, overly colorful appearance of everything, a problem exacerbated by the fact that this display makes bright colors look... well, really bright. For some reason, TouchWiz puts a seemingly randomly-colored square behind every app icon in the launcher, which -- to put it very bluntly -- looks stupid.

Does it let you disable touchwiz and use regular launcher like with sense or do you have to use it? If so that sucks

Just Like with sense...you can download ADW Launcher and/or Launcher Pro. Both are basic 2.2 stock launchers and fully customizable...ADW impliments hints of touchwiz with stock android.

damn my T-Mobile's Vibrant is coming in the mail tomorrow

Don't matter. It's a 4G CDMA phone - Sprint is the only network it's compatible with.

Even if you SIM'd it over to Tmo, you'd only get EDGE network speed instead of 4G b/c it doesn't have the Tmo 3G band receiver.

Same goes for ANY AT&T or any 3G GSM phone. Tmo's 3G band is unique to the US and sits on an island. Fucking sucks for us.

But in the rest of the world Tmo's 3G is on the standard band.
