Russian and Chinese investors are battling for African resources

Corruption happens everywhere, yes, but as deep as it does in africa. Did you have to bribe somebody to get your job, or to get into that college? I dont think so. This type of corruption is rampant in africa. While I cant speak for the whole of africa, I will use nigeria for an example. Nigeria makes a lot of money from oil, yet the countries infastructure is in ruins. The police are still using the same guns from the sixties and use this as an excuse not to engage bandits in shoot outs. In america corrupt officals do get caught, charged and thrown in jail. In nigeria no senior member of goverment has ever been put in prison for stealing money. Do a search on Sani ABacha. He and his son stole billions of dollars. The son was arrested, detained but not charged. The money was taken from him...well not really..they left him and his family with...$100 million. My point is in Nigeria you can be corrupt and have no fear of ever going to jail, in America they can come for you at anytime.

For the past 2 years or so in Nigeria...

I do agree with your feeling about the situation, can we agree that progress is being made? Let's not act as if Africa is doomed

corelation is NOT causation, corruption is neither a cause or effect of poverty as can be seen with America's current mortgage meltdown

Corruption is corruption. poverty, wealth, doesn't matter........

We have been fed that poverty corruption bullshit about Africa for the longest, time to move on to the next stigma

Africa's solution lies in its economics

Let the chinese tell it, how they do it

OL'G Kaya, You hit it right on the nail! Now talking about the Solution & Its Economics.
The most prosperous Sector in Africa is the Informal Sector, which include the mothers buying and reselling food on the streets; the guy reselling defective clothes that he got from Ross's dumpster. You catch my drift...This sector of the industry by itself employs more than 50% of the population (these are assumptions, feel free to correct me).
The impact of this sector is not captured when calculating the GDP of a country since they do not pay taxes. The One's with a 9 to 5 (Very Few) have to pay for the taxes that the rest of the population doesn't pay...So Kaya, could there be a correlation there?
The Success of Africa' Economy lies in an effective exploitation of the Informal sector, which drives its economy and its not regulated.

Well, it could be repeated just that i don't know if something like the UNIA would develop. Look at how "some" black people are talking about they not voting for Obama.:smh:

Marcus Garvey was way ahead of his time, if we actually followed his advice we would be in a lot better position. Unfortunately Marcus Garvey was ignorant of the mentality of our people in North America, we simply weren't ready. When you read the Philsophy and Opinions and his other works its hard to not see that this man had the blueprint for our people. RACE FIRST! We got to have a 21st century look at African Nationalism from Garvey's standpoint.

The UNIA is idle, it no longer serve much relevance in the community today. People like to get together and talk and talk and talk but less action. The days where UNIA members with clean suits were running the streets opening factories, gas stations and other businesses has been traded in for dread lock, dashiki bruhs who like to talk about there problems.

Just go to there website and see if you can take them serious...

Not too many dudes are interested in this subject although this could have far reaching impacts in our daily lives VERY SOON. There is a reason why the U.S. is trying to set up AFRICOM on the continent, its the very same reason why Russian and Chinese investors are there..Race to claim as much resources as possible before the world economy goes parabolic. Oil is one of them. Wars have been fought over little shit we take for granted, such as water, you think these white folks won't try to nuke each other for resources to keep their economies going? Dudes too focused on material shit to see the hand coming down to slap them silly.

Bump.

And people were saying Gadhaffi was crazy for trying to push for a United States Of Africa. If a war broke out in Africa between China or Russia and some African Nation it would be China/Russia against that country ALONE.There is no unity in Africa.I know theres some euro CACs who instigate alot of the beef and supply tha arms. That Sudan shit should have be squashed by African nations coming together a long time ago.Everyone saw what went down but nobody did shit cause it wasn't affecting them.AU ain't doing a damn thing.Uganda and Congo situation shouldn't have got to that level.Maybe things will change with new leadership but only time will tell. The biggest problem in the Black communities(AA,Africa,Caribbean) is that their is to much talking.I hate the State Of The Black Union because all they fucking do is talk.If there is something I can do then i'm down for it.All the action done died with X and King and since then all niggaz been doing is talking.

There will be a military conflict in the near future. Count on it.

:yes::yes::yes::yes: The US already set up The AFRICOM base to counter Chinese and Russian influence on Africa. If anything pops off, china and Russia will unite to take on whoeva might be on their way.

they aint hearing you Bruh ............ now you post some dumb stuff about "Beyonces Nude Pics" or " BGOL Poster X is a fag " and you get 10 pages of responses :smh:

Yeah. Interestingly, it's not just a BGOL thing of course. I have noticed the same thing on a few other non-porn related boards I go on. The "dumb" threads get all the attention.

Yes Capetown is great. I loved seeing all my people doing their do. I was crazy interested in talking to them about apartheid. They handled it way better than amerikkka handled slavery. I'll def be going back. I've been back to Africa 4 times since. Always a different place. This year I'll be going to Tanzania.
As for the chinese and russians, they're just like the arabs: doing the heavy lifting so the white europeans can reap the benefits. What's so new about that?

I agree with alot said in the thread but the part you mention in blue I have to disagree with...the Chinese and russians aren't doing the heavy lifting to benefit anyone else but themselves...Just as european countries staked its claim in africa in the late nineteenth early twentieth century, thats exactly what china is doing now and playing for keeps..From documentaries and articles Ive read, China is starting to become more imperialistic from an economic standpoint as the US does it from a military standpoint...Case in point, just as the poster stated regarding Chinese workers in puerto rico, parts of africa, etc...Same goes for Jamaica and a slew of other countries...The chinese have a shit ton more bodies to spare for labor work than most countries so what they are effectively doing is driving out the local businesses and competition and setting up shit as to where that country specifically only gets chinese made goods/services...thats why russian is trying to stake whatever claim it can as well...I REALLY HOPE THE US WAKES THE FUCK UP...nope nevermind its happening to us as well...just minus the chinese workers..
