That's boxing. Trout just became one of those new names merce was wanting but Cotto is still marketable for a "redemption" fight. An easy tuneup and that Canelo fight can be made. I said he was "cashing out" when he fought Mayweather so it wouldn't surprise me if he did try to get the Alvarez fight and then retire.

Margarito ruined Cintron too. Cintron was on a good run and a big prospect. When he fought Margarito, he looked like he was getting hit with the hardest punches he ever felt in his life. The guy just looked bewildered and even fearful. I think Margarito had the rock wraps on for this one too.

For BOTH fights you mean. Kermit was landing some good shit early in the first one and when Margarito started to land you could just see all the confidence melt away on dude. But idk if Kermit ever had that fighting spirit in the first place. But who knows what Margarito might have done to Mosley had they not caught him that night. Shane owes that to Brother Nazim.

I think the Margarito beating hurt him and took something from him for that first year or so but I dont put as much into it now. He's been a good fighter but I never saw him as the p4p guy some have made him out to be.
With that, I also think he's to the point where he fights exclusively for the money and whatever love he has/had for the sport has diminished greatly.

Hey! I don't think Manny's hated, just given the same skeptical eye that's given to his media rival Floyd Mayweather.
That beating he dished out to Margarito (which I watched on the HBO replay because I wasn't contributing financially to that bullshit fight in any way) was beautiful poetic justice.

Hell the fuck yeah! And I don't mean to take too much away from Mosley's victory, but I think Margarito was shook mentally once they caught his rock wraps. Look at Margarito's ringwalk and when he gets in the ring. I think this guy was mentally out of it and shitting bricks about the wrap situation. He did not seem mentally ready to deal with a boxing match at that point. Not saying he would have won, but dude didn't seem right to me after getting caught with the wraps and during the fight.

Honestly Lennox Lewis should have won the 90's. He beat everybody who was anybody and more importantly he dominated when the Heavyweight division was still relevant.
