For sure, some of them are not lost causes and respect those who came before them. The problem are the ones who can't take criticism from the elders and refuse to elevate the genre. Sure knew genres were made out of rap but I don't see most of what they put out right now standing the test of time. I can see Kendrick and Drake having what would be considered old school classics decades from now. However most of the gimmicky stuff will not stand the test of time.
. However it was a reply to The Bridge which did put Queens on the map. KRS had a meteoric rise from the streets and the entire Bronx backing him. We do know for a fact though that BDP murdered Juice Crew and killed most of their momentum. Only Kane, Masta Ace, and to a small degree Craig G came out all right because none were a part of the original KRS beef. KRS would have gave them that work too had they been involved. Being from Brooklyn instead of Queens probably saved Kane and Masta Ace from his wrath. KRS destroyed Shan, Marley, and Roxanne Shante(only good for steady fuckin'......yikes!)
