If Coach Pop is smart, which he is, they're using this game to identify their weaknesses. If he's not, it's going to be a looooong tourney. The 3 point line is shorter, so that puts everyone in play for shooting 3s, and if you defend that, you've gotta defend drives and not foul.

Hakeem could have played for Nigeria back in the 80s and 90s, but Nigeria basketball was in disarray back then.
He probably looked at the roster and said "Fuck that".
Only recently has Nigeria basketball gotten serious about fielding a serious team.
Now you have a lot of guys in the league with Nigerian heritage and a coach with NBA experience.
Not to mention guys like Giannis and Bam who SHOULD be playing for Nigeria.
Nigeria is good enough to medal in these Olympics.
