New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings confirmed Monday that he was ordered not to score on two run plays inside the Dallas Cowboys' 5-yard line with less than two minutes left in Sunday night's game and the Giants leading by three.

"On the first-down play, I was told, 'Rashad, don't score,'" Jennings said. "On second down, 'Rashad, don't score.' I was tempted to say, 'Forget it,' and go score because I could. But I didn't want to be that guy. But definitely, I was asked not to score."

Sorry man. that's ridiculous. it's 23-20 they have 0 timeouts left.

You score a touchdown it's 30-20 with not enough time to score twice.

Truthfully the giants should have ran it on 3rd down, let the clock go down to damn near the end and then run it again on 4th down.

either they score the game sealing touchdown or the cowboys get the ball back with like :40 seconds left and 99 yards to go.

That didn't cost them the game. All them fools needed to do was run the damn ball 2 times game over. Dallas was out of timeouts.

However I agree Coughlin needs to go.

Are you nuts?
Don't score to go up by 10 makes no damn sense BUT if that's the choice, then run on 1st 2nd and 3rd to eat clock, let the clock run to 1 sec on 4th, take a timeout and then kick the fg.
Not scoring to go up two scores is lunacy.

is it any crazier than telling someone to not score the game sealing td? lol

if they eat the clock on 1st 2nd 3rd and then 4th down the cowboys had 30 seconds left and 99 yards to go.

if you can't stop them from getting in field goal range with that amount of time then you need to lose.

Yall always talking about Jerry Jones but look at the dumbasses the Giants keeping around.

Coughlin betting on games and his own team.. He needs the Pete Rose treatment

I don't know much about American Handball but that sounds like someone openly admitting game fixing. :smh:

No running clock on 4th.

Didn't say it right...after running on third down, let the clock expire to 1 sec and then kick FG on 4th down. I was so heated:angry: - typed it wrong.

if you have watched football enough, you KNOW you the type of shit that can happen.
Wait, their kicker can't kick it thru the end zone on a kickoff?

no different than what happened.

prevent defense.

They wanted Eli to score the game winner with his arm. Sadly he couldn't find anyone open and was to dumb to take the sack and keep the clock running.

This time Coughlin is not to blame. It was Eli's call and Coughlin was unaware. I would be pissed if i was on that defense. You dont trust them enough to go up by 10 with less than 2 minites left?

a 6 point lead is not being "up two scores" when one score (TD) nullifies it...which was exactly the case...that FG was worthless...and I'm not saying it in hindsight neither...I was a bit surprised/disappointed when they didn't go for it on 4th @ the time

and coughlin is a fucking ass for that if this shit is true about purposely not scoring  idk tho...I remember those first 2 runs and it didn't look like dude was trying not to score...don't remember seeing any holes for him to run and dallas D looked stifling on those 2 plays

not really - incomplete pass stops the clock. I think you meant prevent offense cuz that's what they did.
I'm not co-signing what they did by any means.
Go up by two scores is what should have happened.

I think you are misinterpreting my point. I don't want a damn field goal bcuz obviously, a TD beats that. The idea that they don't want a TD makes no sense to me but if that is what they choose to do because they are trying to run out the time as much as possible, then a 3rd down pass makes no sense because if incomplete, it stops the clock.
There is only one real option, try to score on 3rd down since dallas used their timeouts on 1st and 2nd down. If they go up 10 pts, then dallas needs a TD and a FG to at least tie the game.
This is not even hindsight bcuz when I saw that pass attempt, I thought the coaching staff was crazy. I was fully expecting a legitimate attempt to score a TD on the ground and if that failed, then let the clock go to 1 sec before kicking the FG. Yes a TD can still beat them BUT you can throw in the middle of the field with practically no time.

No giants were gonna play prevent defense no matter what.
even if they kick the field goal on 4th. run it on 3rd down.
they got cute. told him not to score 2 straight times then called a pass play
